4th Gen evolving pichu

    i got my volt tackle pichu at lvl 1 from my pearl and traded it off to my 1 bade char on HG. I need it to evolve before level 26 so I can get thunderbolt. Any tips and will it evolve by then? It's usually at the 1st in party. Also when should I evolve it into Raichu?

    P.S. I have light ball
     
    I've managed to get my Togepi to a Togetic by Level five. Just follow what people have said below. It also helps walking around with it a lot, and attaching a Soothe Bell to it. Haircuts work as well.

    Evolve it to Raichu when you have acquired all the moves you want from Pikachu, as Raichu doesn't learn any moves.
     
    Don't battle with it, unless it's nowhere near level 26. Although, when you're battling with it, make sure it's in the low 20's or something; just in case when you level it up it's not happy enough. Try and make it happy. There's a thread somewhere about how to make your Pokémon happier. Then, take a walk with your Pichu and make it happy. When you do it long enough, level him/her up to let it evolve into Pikachu!

    As to when you should evolve your Pikachu into Raichu is all your opinion. I like using stones to evolve my Pokémon after he/she learns its last attack. Pikachu's is Thunder, but there is also a TM for it, so you have the option to level it up until the level it learns Thunder or just use the TM. Don't forget that Pikachu needs a Thunderstone to evolve! =D

    Pichu evolves with happiness.

    1. Keep it in the front of your party.
    2. Give it items (Protein, Calcium, etc.)
    3. Have it hold a Soothe Bell
    4. Battle with it a lot.

    Those are the things that help with happiness.

    since pichu turns into pikachi with friend ship i would
    put it in my pokewalker
    give it potions even if it only lost about 5 hp
    give it vitamins
    try not to lose it would put the friend ship down
    put it in the front of the party
    use a soothe bell

    by doing these i got my togpi to turn into togitick at level 16 or level 20 or something like that. :)

    i would evolve pikachu at level 45 because it learns thunder or u could teach them the tms of thunder and thunder bolt and get him to learn agility at level 34.
     
    Since it's not EV trained at all, use a soothe bell and pump it full of EV reducing, friendship increasing berries.

    Those don't affect happiness at all.
