Well, if you take a look at last year's rotation, SP Pokemon lasted about 1-2 years. So I'm guessing the rotation is around that time range. Our's rotated somewhere in July last year, so probably the next rotation is going to happen in a matter of 3-5 months. Hope this helped! :D

Last year was a bit of an exception with its early rotation, as they didn't want a third straight year where Worlds was dominated by SP Pokemon (yes, they had 3 years of life). They normally rotate sets in August just after Worlds.
So sets generally have 2 years of life in tournament play. But to imply they become worthless is oversimplifying things. They don't become worthless, they just drop in value to a price that's more appropriate for the card's rarity.
