Experiments [PG-13]

Drake paused for a minute. He recalled for a moment of his time spent with his guardian. He remembered talking to him after they had stolen something quite valuable. Drake remembered telling him he was truly happy, to which his guardian quickly shot it down. He told him that this isn't true happiness, but he would find something or someone someday that would really make him truly happy. At that time, Drake didn't believe him, but looking back, he was right. He had always been right.

"I...love you too." He finally said. He embraced her tightly. They had known each other for a very short time, but for the first time in a long time, Drake was truly happy.

Aura pulled away from him and smiled. She opened her mouth to say something, but instead of speaking, she hiccupped. After doing that a few times, she started giggling. She put her finger up, telling him to wait a minute. She got up and walked over to her bag, grabbing her bottle of water out of it.

She drank the water, hoping to get rid of the hiccups. She put the bottle away, waiting a few seconds, and when the hiccups didn't reoccur, she smiled and sighed. She stood up and rubbed her chest. It had been hurting for the past few minutes, but she had ignored it. She furrowed her brows when she felt something on her hand, then examined it and gasped. There was blood on her hand.

"Um. .. I'll be right back." she said, running off to some other part of the house, looking for the bathroom, so she could figure out what was going on.

Drake could see in the darkness of the room perfectly. She had blood on her hands. Was she bleeding? Did she suffer a wound that I didn't know about? Drake thought to himself about what to do before finally going to see if she was alright. He found her and ask,

"Are you ok?" There was a concerned look on his face.

She shook her head. "No, but I will be. It's been a few days since I cleaned my scar, so it got a bit messy. No big deal really, I should have taken better care of it." she said.

She had successfully found the bathroom, and was standing in front of the mirror. She pulled the collar of her shirt down a little, to investigate the scar. She winced. It had been a while since she looked at it, and it still looked just as bad as always. She touched it, and winced again, and more blood came off on her hands. She turned a knob on the sink, and the water came on. She looked around, and after a minute found a washcloth.

"Could you give me a minute, so I can clean this?" she asked.

"...Sure", Drake replied softly. He went back to the couch and sat down. He waited for her to come back, a worried look on his face. He had no idea the scar was this serious. He felt bad for her, having to deal with it all the time. It must be tough, he thought to himself. Drake looked at his hands. The shaking had gone down, but the burning sensation was still there. Still, compared to what she must be feeling, its nothing. Drake looked outside and watched the rain. With his eyes, he could witness a single drop of rain drop down at very slow speed. It was actually quite an interesting thing to watch. Although Drake watched the rain, his mind was on Aura. He hoped she was ok.

Aura cleaned her scar, wishing she didn't have to look at it. "Stupid Aura. You have to take care of yourself. No one's going to do it for you." she mumbled to herself.

She finished cleaning and fixed her shirt. She sighed, looking in the mirror, glad she could no longer see the scar. Still hurts a little. she thought to herself. She shook her head and left the bathroom, finding her way back to where Drake was. She watched him for a minute, then smiled, sitting beside him.

"I'm okay. I just wasn't taking very good care of myself, but I'm fine." she paused, "How 'bout you, are you okay?" she asked.

Drake looked at her. His eyes were focused on hers. He seemed to be unaware she asked a question, until about a while after it was asked.

"Hmm? Oh I am fine. I am more concerned about you." He paused for a minute, then added, "But if you say you're ok..."

Drake looked back out towards the rain. He was hoping she was ok. He didn't want her to be in pain. He also didn't want her to be thinking about it, though, seeing as it was connected to a pretty eerie event. He decided to change the mood, hoping she wouldn't dwell on it. He put his arm back around her and smiled.

Aura smiled and relaxed, leaning against Drake. Her chest still hurt a little, but not enough to where she couldn't ignore it. She closed her eyes for a minute, listening to the sounds around her. She could hear the rain, she could hear her heartbeat, and she could hear Drake breathing. Other than that, she blocked things out, she didn't really need to hear anything else.

"I love you." she said quietly. She liked being able to say it without any worries. She smiled at him.

Drake welcomed the silence. Although probably to Aura, everything seemed a lot more noisier. He wondered for a second what it was like to be able to hear the tiniest drop of a pin. All he could here is the rain. He spoke again.

"I love you too, Aura." He looked at her eyes. He relaxed some more. He was beyond calm. Drake almost let out a laugh for a moment at what was happening. To think at what has happened in such a short time.

Aura giggled and turned her gaze to Drake. "You know, I was scared before, when I realized I loved you." she said, "I didn't know what you would say." she shook her head, "I hate not knowing things, it makes me anxious."

She sat quietly for a moment after that, letting her thoughts take over. When she spoke again, she laughed. "When I first met you, back in the cave, I was scared out of my mind. I thought you were going to kill us, I was seriously terrified." she stopped for a second, "But, I'm not scared of you anymore. I don't think you'd hurt me, at least, not on purpose anyway."

Drake had thought about the cave. Although he did not mention it, he thought he was going the kill them as well. Funny how fate turns out. Drake then smiled a bit.

"It's very interesting how things sometimes turn out. I never expected myself...well I never expected this to happen."

Drake thought of what would happen now because of this. He tried to push the thought out of his mind, but it kept coming back inside of him. What WOULD happen now?

Aura stayed quiet for a moment, listening to the quiet sounds again. After a minute, she sighed, and smiled a little. "I didn't expect it either, but I'm glad it happened." then she started thinking about something else.

"Who are we going to be looking for next?" she asked, knowing she probably should figure that out.

( OOC Ok I think its ok for now.)

Drake was silent from her response. He didn't really want to think about who to fight next. He was more surprised she wanted to. He thought about it for a minute. He decided that he didn't want to talk about it right now. The problems of theirs would develop once they begin to go after the Experiments and the Materials once more. For now, Drake didn't want to hear about them. But he knew he had to.

"I supposed the three Materials will be our next targets, seeing as we cannot find any other Experiments around except for Luphen. There are three of them, though..."

Aura nodded. "Okay, I just wanted to know." she said.

She sat in silence for a few minutes, thinking, then decided she didn't want to think. When she thought for long periods of time, her mind always went back to the day of the incident, and she was in too good a mood to let that back in just yet.

So, with a smile, she leaned up and kissed Drake again.

Drake sat now in silence, except it was different from the other silence. This time he thought of the things that were to come. He considered asking Aura about this, but before he could, she leaned in and kissed Drake again, to which Drake was greatly thankful. He accepted the kiss, embracing her as he did so. A bit of sparks of lightning accidentally escaped his lips as he did it, causing him to push back for a second, a little bit in shock. "Oops, sorry." He said, grinning a little bit. He leaned back in to kiss her again.

Aura pulled back a little bit, smiling, her cheeks still a bit red. She held a thoughtful expression for a minute, but then smiled again, putting her arms around his neck.

"So, what does this make us?" she asked, her heart beating a little more than it should be.

Drake thought for a moment. It had been a crazy culmination of events towards this, and he wondered. He decided since all of this was happening anyways, whats the worst possible thing that could happen if he decided to ask her?

"...Would you like to be my girlfriend?" He looked at her, a somewhat serious expression on his face as he asked.

Her smile remained as he asked her. It wasn't really a question she had to think about, she already knew the answer.

"Yeah." she said, giving him a quick kiss, "I would like that." she giggled, tightening her grip around him.

Drake smiled at her, and kissed her back. He then looked into her eyes. "Well, I'm glad that's settled, then." He stopped thinking about what could possibly happen later. He was having too much of a good time right now, with his new girlfriend.

Girlfriend? I wouldn't believe it if it came out of my mouth. What would he say if he saw me now? I bet he'd laugh his ass off. "This is great." He said, not taking his eyes away from her. "I'm actually having a hard time believing this. I keep thinking if I close my eyes and then open them, I would wake up. It's a good thing my hands are reminding me its not a dream."

Aura laughed lightly, then just continued smiling. "I was kind of thinking the same thing. I mean, compared to the past year, this is the best thing that's happened." she shook her head.

A few strands of hair fell in front of her eyes, so she pushed them back, then put her arm back around Drake's neck. "I love you!" she said, giggling. Then she blushed, "Sorry, I like saying it."
