Exploring multiple regions

So, in GSC and HG/SS, we're able to explore two different regions--after winning all the gym badges in Johto, we then travel to Kanto to battle the Pokemon League, and beyond that we can even explore the rest of Kanto and earn all the gym badges there as well. So far we've only been able to explore more than one region in the Johto-based games.

So what do you guys think about the ability to travel across more than one region in the Pokemon games? Is this something you'd like to see in later games, or is it something you don't care much about? If such a game were to ever come out in the future, which region(s) would you like to be able to explore?

I love to see if we can travel to sinnoh and hoen exclusively or kalos to unova. IT seems rather interesting concepts and I missed it

Additional regions means more things to do, which means I play the game for longer, which is always a good thing. Frankly, I'm amazed that they haven't done the multiple region thing again in a new title, because there's no excuse not to. I'm not accepting lack of space on the cartridge as an excuse; the Gamebody could handle it, the DS could handle it. The 3DS could definitely handle it, especially when the regions haven't increased noticeably in size, and I'm not going to accept the excuse of updated graphics. The hardware is better. It can handle it. End of story.

I'd love to explore Sinnoh again...ideally with Johto, as that's my second favourite region and they could always expand on the Sinjoh Ruins as a connector for the two, but really I want to see a game with every region explorable, with the ability to start in whichever one you want and move about as you please. Single region postgame just can't compete with an additional region to explore.

It is sad that something like this was only exclusive to the Johto games, but they likely did this back then due to Johto's small size as a region and lacking a lot due to Kanto's presence. I would love to have travelled between Unova and Kalos, or even Hoenn and Sinnoh.

I think that was one of the things I love most about Johto. Honestly, I just cannot think of a reason why they haven't done it since. I'd certainly love to see a game where you can travel to any region and complete all the leagues, even if you had to leave your Pokemon behind and begin a new journey.

I don't mind exploring two regions in one game. However, I'd like to explore 2 new regions, rather than traveling back to the land of past.

I loved being able to do more than one region in a game. There was always so much more to do. I really wish they would do that again. I kinda want a mega game that would say have ALL of the regions in one game. I'm pretty sure that would take some time to complete.
