Fainting Pokemon?!

I think Ash would make a better Pokemon BREEDER than a Pokemon TRAINER.
If he's so damn set on befriending anything that moves, maybe he should focus on that instead of forcing those poor things to fight to the death so he can win a tournament he's been trying at for ten years.

Yeah I mean Ash being in his early 20s now you would think he would have accomplished more. This is the point in the series where he will have a breakdown realizing his life is going nowhere and turn to alcohol and drugs.

The next 400 episodes will be like celebirty rehab with Brock and *insert random new girl* trying to help him recover.

Also this is why he isnt a pokemon breeder: https://www.vgcats.com/super/?strip_id=36

He'll also realize that, even though he's twenty, he has not yet hit puberty and will have a mid-life crisis early on in his life, probably ending in suicide.

Followed shortly by Misty returning from where-ever she went after I stopped caring about the anime, and a Romeo and Juliette-esque scene involving Ash not really being dead, but Misty ends up dying, and Ash kills himself fr srs when she is dead.

And the Team Rocket will take Ash' Pikachu.

And then the thread got derailed horribly. o.o

Wait what was the subject here again?

Team Rocket are far greater losers than Ash. They have been trying for a decade to steal a solitary Pikachu...*facepalm*

I'm pretty sure they took Misty out of the anime just so that I could stop caring about it before it sucked.

It was about catching pokemon when they fainted, and the physics of a wailord slammin' up on little pipikapi.
;o.o

And agreed. You'd think by now they could have caught their own. I mean ash ran into a whole frickin' Pikachu community one episode!

Saddest episode ever. Back when I cared, and every episode didn't end that way.

So yeah you can't catch pkmn when they are fainted because that would trip the cosmic rift between videogame and anime, and result in the end of the universe.

*thread-jump*

See here I actually have a theory on the fainting thing: Fainting is a reflex that kicks in after the Pokemon has been beaten to the point of causing permanent damage. The brain shuts down and the Pokemon goes semi-comatose, while major healing processes get to work on patching the injuries. A fainted Pokemon can recover within an hour if left in a Pokeball, or in a couple of hours if left alone. Of course, this doesn't help them in the wild against predators, but it does against their kin and against trainers, who are usually on a strict no-kill basis and can use fainting as an indicator for who has won the battle. As for why they don't capture them while fainted... um, honor code? Also the natural healing processes interfere with the Pokeball's signal. *handwave*

...Yeah, so pure fanon. (it also helps one judge whether or not a creature actually is a Pokemon-- if it doesn't faint after sustaining permanent injuries, something's off about it.)

The Pokemon flee when they faint. Remember fainting only means they don't have enough energy to fight, they can still use HMs and flee.

Think of Pikachu has a legit maxed IV Pikachu. Those aren't the easiest to come by. Besides, they tried to catch those Pikachu, the twerps wouldn't let them.

Games are games , not real .
