    As the title introduces, this new thread is about who in the Pokemon world is related, and could possibly help in solving: Is Giovanni Red's father? But its more open than that.


    Okay, Well my first theory is that Team Rocket (not from the Anime..boo it sucks) is one gigantic family owned business (closely modeling and mocking the mafia).

    I think that Giovanni is:
    Sabrina's father
    Koga's brother
    Blaine's brother
    Professor Oak's son
    Agatha's son

    That being said, Agatha and Professor Oak were married at one point.

    Discuss.
     
    Hmm, tha Gym Leaders(aside from Giovanni himself) all seem like ok ppl, but for some wierd reason, yesh, I think Giovanni is Red's father an' Ash's father in the anime... o_O
     
    Not to me lol, Sabrina, Lt. Surge, Koga, and Blaine all seem evil and like they're hiding something up their sleeves.
     
    I think that
    Ash's family is or was Ash, his sister Raina/Casey, Sakaki his father and Delilah his mother.
    It's what I think. And since they'll probably never tell too much about that stuff, we can get away with it like Phantom Bugsy gets away with saying Matsu and Touki lived on Dewford island at one time.
     
    Well, I haven't read much of the manga, so I'll just go with my opinions on the anime...

    I personally don't think that Agatha and Professor Oak would be Giovanni's parents, because wasn't there a special episode or something that actually showed his real mother, "Madame Boss"? It was on the Birth of Mewtwo CD Drama, which I don't know much about. I just read about it on a website.

    As for Giovanni being Ash's father... Well, I don't really agree with that but I guess it's a possibility, lol. It's funny to think about, because I just can't imagine Delia getting involved with a man like him. o_o; If it was true then it would add a serious plot twist to the anime, though. I could see it now...

    Giovanni: Ash... I am your father!
    Ash: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

    Ash in the Anime should assume Team Rocket. Just because... he'd have many followers.

    I always thought that Giovanni was Jessie's (yes, from Team Rocket ;P) brother. o.o And that that one Maia or whatever the heck Jessie's mom's name was, was also Giovanni's mother. I think I'm more following the anime, though. X3 If I recall correctly, there was some special episode or movie or something where Jessie's mother went into the mountains to try and capture Mew, but died from...let's say an avalanche. XD

    And Jessie's mother was either the leader of Team Rocket, or just one of their best recruits. X3 So that could explain why Giovanni gained leadership of Team Rocket sometime down the road after his "mother" died. O.< I'm beginning to confuse myself...XD Well, there's my two cents. X3;

    Ahahaha! :D That would be so funny! But Ash in the anime doesn't really know about Giovanni...however, I can't say that because I only watch the originals mostly. But I always thought that Giovanni was his father in the anime and in the game. In fact (besides R/S/E) I always think the head evil-dude is the character's father. Or maybe the creators of both the anime and the games just don't like having father figures....
     
    I think that agatha and prof. oak were probably married at one point or good friends like ash and misty cuz in R/B/Y/FR/LG, agatha talks about oak. i know someone said that they saw an episode with giovanni's mom on it or somethin, but i think agatha could be giovanni's mom because **MAJOR ANIME SPOILER AHEAD!!! IF YOU WANT TO WAIT FOR ABOUT A YEAR UNTIL THIS EPISODE IS ON IN ENGLISH, STOP LOOKING AT THIS POST** Agatha becomes the new viridian gym leader in the episode "scott and the battle frontier". i'm not sure if it was that episode, but it was episode 403 or 405.
     
    Games: Giovanni could be Red's father, which would explain him changing after the last fight in Veridian.

    Anime: If Giovanni's related to anyone, it'd be Ash, and not just because they'd want to follow the game. Japan (the Anime industry in general, actually) loves to throw the 'I am your Father or Mother' twist into their shows. Plus, they seem to disregard the biological look-alike aspect of it all (Mom and Giovanni both have brown hair and Ash has black.). But it's been that way for ages. In Sailor Moon, Chibi-Usa had pink hair for god's sake, while Usagi and Tuxedo Kamen (can't remember Japanese name, Mamoru or something) have blonde and black, respectively. Of course, that's just one example. (I think Tenchi had a similar situation...)

    yeah... i noticed all Ash knows about Giovanni is that Team Rocket is always trying to get poke-presents for "the boss". It'd be wierd(but could happen) if Ash just asked his mom who his dad was and she told him.

    I remember hearing in an old episode somewhere(i think "The Bridge Bike Gang") that Delia hung out with a bad crowd a long time ago, and now that makes sense. The bad crowd was Giovanni and the 1st Team Rocket members. It also mans that Giovanni could very well be Ash's Dad. She got pregnant with Ash, Giovanni betrayed her, and she moved from Viridian City to Pallet Town, to raise her son away from such horribleness. It also explains two more things:

    1. In the anime he used to be dark and mysterious, yet now he's seen in almost every episode (usually in meowth's delusions of grandeur), full face, even! This could be to lighten the blow if/when they do reveal it.
    2. uh, i forgot

    I can just picture it.

    Beginning of the episode:
    Ash finishes from the Battle Frontier Quest, and is on his way back to pallet, to meet his mom, Prof. Oak, his Pokemon, etc. He calls Prof. Oak and tells him he's on his way back. A few hours later(2 minutes episode time) Team Rocket comes and tries to steal Oak's Pokemon again, this time with Giovanni himself overlooking the operation(since he's so fed up with Jessie and James's failures). Prof. Oak Calls Ash and co.(at Delia's house) to come over, that Team Rocket's there. Delia, Shocked, Tags along (note that Ash and co. never mentioned TR to Delia before). They arrive there, and see that there?s ?someone new? there. No one knows who Giovanni is, and Delia has no choice but to come clean.
     
    Oh boy... I find it funny how many people are obsessed with how Giovanni relates to all of the characters, when the only time that anyone aside from Jessie and James has spoken/been next to him was Ash in Mewtwo's Return. Besides those few moments, Giovanni has only indirectly effected the group. I mean, why would they suddenly spring something like Gio being Ash's father? This is the kid that can't remember he has a Pidgeot; he probably doesn't even remember who Giovanni is. >_< Granted, I suppose it could be possible, but I wouldn't count on it. I think of Ash's father as someone we haven't met, will probably never meet; like Yugi's father on Yu-gi-oh, or Misty's parents, or Tracey's as well.

    Hey! Maybe Giovanni is Tracey's father?? O.o
     
    "Who is Ash's father" is about as pointless a discussion as the eddless variations of "4Kids is the Devil incarnate" thread. Can we PLEASE drop this subject???
