so what's the point of sticky if there's like 10 of them there...

Btw, again, I made a huge mistake with the battle fanfic thread listing... I just included any and all possible moves that a Pokemon can learn for my fanfics ;_; So yeah... I'm just going to use all possible attacks as long as the Pokemon can learn it in a game one way or another.

*wants a hug*

Silverblaze thought that he's choosing a "n00bish" team especially with a trainer name like that. I don't think he realized just how much problems it can cause some people to try to portrait a trainer whose name is "SuperTrainer" realistically... thank goodness that I finally found a way around it ^o^
Lol, I had figured out what I was doing the moment I thought him up. Oh, and I was not saying that it was a n00bish team, but that the whole "Supertrainer" thing combined with the semi-ubers sounded like a seven-year-old playing. XD "Thanks, Supertrainer!" "No need for thanks, citizen! Supertrainer, awaaaayyyyy!"
Uh... you know what? I just realized something. I can't battle that well at all. My NetBattle record is awful (I've got over 100 losses on my old record long ago in the GSC), and I really can't write fan fic battles compared to the likes of the authors of Frostweaver's Standard of Excellence fics. It's not you, SB. I'm just bad, and I don't want to mess anyone up.
Hmm, I'm hearing this kinda stuff all over the place. XD C'mon, it's really easy, just put your character up with your favorite pogeys/moves and move on from that. XD
It's kinda fun really. Though then again, this is kinda *very* long o.o; Or maybe I'm being queer as 3 pages of MSWord passed and still there's no fainting yet >>;
Ooh, this is gonna be fun! XD

Ima try double battling again, but make it better than my last attempt failure. XD Mud Sport is the evilest move on the planet... XD
Hey, shouldn't we sticky the battle thread is we really want it to survive?
May I direct your attention to the DCC threads. Without being stickied, they are consistently among the top five threads to be posted in daily in OC. XD ACTIVITY SHALL OWN YOU! XD

Nah, that sounds fine. My whole battle was twenty-two pages, and I think I had about that much buildup to the battle, maybe a little less. If you didn't mind sitting through mine, terribly, then I don't think that length should be a problem.

Yes, Billy needs a DQ warning. No excuse, he's writing stuff for Serebii at the moment. *runs off to poke with stick*

I may do another battle with somebody as soon as I crawl out from under my homework load (like that English presentation I'm supposed to be writing right now).

Yay finally someone fainted!... on page 5 >>;

I had no problem reading yours at all. It's just that when I was doing my planning, I didn't realize that it'll take this much description to try to give the readers a visual image of the exact plan on defeating Gyarados. It took longer than I imagined. Seeing how this battle goes, I guess that my battle will be roughly the same length too.

Oooo poking! =D *pokes Billy with another stick*
I think that it's rather no excuse to be absent from the battle fanfic for more than a month without any prior apologies for being busy, and so on. He can at least drop a note here and tell us about his current situation...

Forget english. Go battle someone =D

Hmm I think Act and Yamato-san are battling each other (most likely). Maybe we can find some other people to join... or oooo... find Lily or Niko to ask if we can make the battle fanfic an annoucement in other places too or something.

Silver~ It's about Floyd the bug catcher ;D

Lily~ I know x3 It's just that I hang out here because of the writers...not because I'm a huge fanfic-er.

And how else do you expect the battles inside HMW to go if you don't practice now?
Like I said, I don't want to mess up anything with my lack of common sense and stupid mistakes I made in the past. I'd like to forget things like that, but some people like to rub it in my face. To prevent that from happening, I'm just gonna avoid it altogether.

Uh... yeah. I know that.
Too bad almost everyone would knock me out in one hit.

The Salamence of [insert trainer's name here] fired a mighty beam of light at Ida's Persian. Before anything could be done on Ida's end, the Classy Cat was blown to a wall. Ida sighed in dismay as her Persian slid down the wall and on the ground. [Trainer's name] laughed, unable to believe that he beat his opponent with one move.

"I KNEW I was gonna lose," Ida moaned.

Katsuro stepped up to Ida, wrapping his arms around her. She embraced him, finally breaking down into sobs into his shoulder.

"It'll...be all right," He muttered akwardly, unaclimated to having a girl crying on his shoulder.

;P

I wouldn't mind joining the battle, except I might suck.

Ah ha! Perfect couple!

Katsuro vs Nekomajo Asunya, war of the lack of confident "oh-my-battlefic-will-suck-boohoo" trainers! =D

I just did my battle thread post. Rest assured knowing you can't get any lamer than mine. Just kidding. But really, it is hard to write because it's soooooooooo out of context. As a writer, you don't feel motivated to complete it. I remember starting it the day I challenged silverblaze (like august...early august) and not picking it up to finish it until today...like an hour ago. Yeah, so it's prolly incoherent. My advice, though, if you're apprehensive about doing a battle for the thread, just view it as practice. If you don't think you can complete it, try and have fun with it by making up a story to go with it (not like a full-length fic, but a premise in your mind on which the fic can be based). Okay, so yeah. This is like my second post in 2 months and all the sudden I guess I'm some kind of well of advice. Whatever. I'm out. To be about some more SENIOR business! Throw 'em up for the 06!

Kills the word 'unaclimated'. It has been bugging me since I got off ~.~; Bad word choice.

Anyways, I'd like to fight you Neko ;P

I'll just quote my xanga entry..

LilyPichu
Trainer: Lily

1. Pichu (f) - ChuChu - Attract

2. Pichu (f) - ChiChi - Attract

3. Pichu (f) - ChaCha - Attract

4. Pichu (f) - CheeChee - Attact

5. Pichu (f) - ChooChoo - Attract

6. Pichu (m) - er...ChyChy - Iron tail

One male in case of sexism.

I'm a real killer with names. =S

See, this team owns all. ;D~

OOC: Just for the sake of pity, *hugs dac* ;x

No motivation to finish...? Hmm not really the case with me. For me, the motivation is how to make your favorite Pokemon look fantastically yet realistically good in a battle, which is something you probably can't do on netbattle. Also, you keep your focus as "yourself" who is in the battle, against a friend you know (and rivalry against friend always heat things up). Thinking of "The most Brilliant Strategy" is another motivation, as people will be rating your story with others to see how is more strategical with creative ways to win the match.

I dunno... I'm queer and I find myself motivated to write for a change.

No, I PMed him Sept. 5th about the thing and he told me that he had school and stuff and was really busy. He also said that he'd have it done by the eigth, but nothing happened. I was willing to wait a week or so, but... It's kinda been two weeks. XP

Actually, his battle was kinda interesting, although the big bird-thingy at the end kinda screwed me up for a bit. I was prepared for a 'bad guy escaped, evil possibilities', but then he clobbered Bob with a super-blaziken or something. XD Also, he should get points for "first person to write his end outside of a League-like setting", right?

Ooh, the excitement of a writer is within me! XD Seriously, just teach persian ICE BEAM! XD And since they can only use one salamence, it'll be fun. Besides, in a FFBattle, you hafta make yourself win, you know. You win on your end, and the other person wins on their end. XD Then we see who won the best. XDXDXD

Catshipping, gotta love it! XD

See?! SEE?! Oh, you don't see.

If N-A battles Kats, all will be fun. XD And, your ego will get a healthy boost. XD
I'll save Katsuro the time and let him win, though.
*snarlsnarlsnarl* Do that and I'll find a way to have NEGREK battle you. XD *snarlsnarlsnarl* XDXDXD

I need a good threat. XD
See, this team owns all. ;D~

Only problem is, what to do against a female that knows Attract? XD

Frostweaver-AAAUUUUGGGH! WHY'S IT SAYING THAT?!?!?! IT'S LOOKING AT ME FUNNY! HEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!

Persian can't learn Ice Beam. Still, a writer should be able to use whatever they have at their advantage. Persian are very agile Pokemon, so who's to say they couldn't dodge that Hyper Beam, maybe even jump over the beam, land on top of the Salamence's head, and slicing the living hell out of the thing, or at least badly damage its wings and make it fall to the ground, while it's still busy depleting that immense beam (and if you really wanna get into game mechanics, recovery from a Hyper Beam would leave it open for an even longer period of time).

I may try that battle thread doo-dad one day. I'm very rusty with writing at the moment, and there's a secret story I'm working on also. Plus... I don't want to see Pokemon I like getting clobbered by my opponent :*(.

As an example of a "poor" Pokemon owning a fight... in actual game world, Hitmonchan's element punches suck, but in a fanfiction setting, they can be very useful. I had a 'chan in a story use a combination of fire punch and agility to wrap himself in a feiry tornado. Combining attacks can be a fun and neat way to really make battles interesting.

Another thing that can be interesting is abilities. Perhaps your Pokemon is unaware of the opponent's abilies and uses, say, Sleep Powder on Hypno. and fails immediately. Since I doubt a real-world trainer would have every single Pokemon's abilities and movesets memorized, that would be fun to work with also. It's all about imagining yourself as the trainer and Pokemon as living creatures, and not as a bunch of stats and numbers.

Silver~ You're totally underestimating me D: I can write well ;D

Bug Catchers get almost no recognition, so I have no reservations about using one in my story. Pah~

You can't even enter the Smogon forum with at least all of that memorized. High tier netbattlers as a basic need to have that done, with at least all OU stats memorized on top of that (especially speed of all the '392's, which are Jolteon, Aerodactyl, Mewtwo and Crobat.) Persian on netbattle lives on the pure fact that everyone underestimates its speed, which is actually higher than Gengar. People actually *do* know all of that stuff.

Fanfics on the other hand should have trainers forget these things on purpose. Stats are no longer inexistant, and sometimes 2 abilities can co-exist unlike the game where it's one or the other (ex: Early Bird + Synchronize together on Xatu). Of course, move combinations are also a great addition to fanfic battles.

*Hmmph!*

What, 'hmmmph' is your new '*wants a hug'* that replaced 'la' a while before?

Yeah. Reeaaaal smart. xP

Seriously, though. I wanna verse someone, although I've had little to no experience writing battles. oO;

"Go, Pichu!"

"Pii!"

"Thunder, Pichu!"

"Pi? o.o"

Where are all those self defining stuff...
