    Far Cry 3
    Release date:NA September 4, 2012 | EU September 6, 2012
    Platforms: PC | PS3 | 360

"Far Cry 3 returns the series to a tropical island setting, similar to the first game and unlike the second game, which took place in an African savanna setting. Players will assume the role of protagonist Jason Brody, a tourist who has been stranded on an island chain in the grips of violent local conflict for years. Jason has been separated from his girlfriend and, in his search for her, developers have stated he will have to deal with a wide cast of mostly unstable characters who have been trapped on these islands for some time.

Far Cry 3 is the new game in the interesting Far Cry series, but with a big twist. The game has taken on a deeper and darker feeling with twists and turns.

Are you looking forward to this?

I'm really liking the trippy moments(a game can never have enough trippy moments), but the multiplayer seems very tacked on. It will also probably suffer the Crytek curse and look awesome but have standard FPS gameplay, and I'm not really looking forward to that.

However, I still may get it at a discount just for the map generation. User created content is one of the best features a game can have in my opinion, and I can definitely forgive Crytek if some aspects of the game will suck because they had to work on perfecting the map creator.

Thank God someone else wants this game; thought I was the only one.

Indeed, I did think that at the time, but I let my overall feeling of the game take over, so I think the trippy bits look like an awesome addition to a game that could be so epicly different.

    Warning, off topic ramble

The original Crysis had one of my favorite multiplayers, that was made by crytek. Another thing, It's not the crytek curse, because EVERY fps suffers from this problem now because they are all trying to make as much money as the powerhouse game Call of Duty. Game designers (or most of them at least) Have forgotten what we, the fans, want, this is because they have seen the current sweet spot of Call of Duty's arcade style multiplayer. I could go on forever on how Call of Duty has cast us into a gaming "Dark Age" but I shall stop myself.

(That is also my own opinion)

    ASIDE FROM THAT:

Far-Cry 3 looks great, I loved Far-Cry 1 and 2 very much, and even managed to have a Lan party in school in Far Cry 2 multiplayer. I like the return to the tropics, as well as the insanity of the island. I can't wait for it.
