i was looking at my cards the other day (trying to collect the whole Ndex) and i realised that i had 2 cards, both holo, same name but different pokemon. i have a normal holo lanturn card with lanturn on it. but the other card is magnezone, has the picture, the (stage 2 evolves from magneton) but with lanturn written on the top. i was wondering if it was worth anything to find a significant fault on a card so i looked for a pokemon forems site which led me here, can anyone help?

Have you checked for the accents over the "e" in Pokemon?

And, if possible, take a picture of it and upload it as an attachment to your post here. You can upload attachments when you click the Post Reply button and then scroll past the "reply to thread" box to the "Additional Options" box below it, clicking on the "Manage Attachments" button in that box.

Unless I know you to be knowledgeable prior, I treat you like you're a novice. I've encountered plenty of people who don't know how to do something and get confused by it. I also try to assess one's knowledge of collecting.

You still haven't answered about checking for the accents over the "e" letters anywhere it says Pokemon on the front of the card. Someone could very well have resealed that booster if it's missing them.

You've also checked the back to see if it's a faded blue compared to other card backs, which are a deeper blue?

The shade of blue is the same as my other cards. And the accent is there on both sides

I sent you a picture through email anyhow

Seems legit, but I couldn't tell ya if it's worth anything. Could very well be a one-off error.

EDIT: After looking at your picture, the font seems off to me, but I can't pinpoint why. And the picture doesn't seem holofoil. Does the background of the picture have a holofoil pattern that you can see? And does the card border have a holofoil pattern as well?

The whole front of the card has a silver foil shine to including the border which is silver

I'll get my other actual lanturn card and compare the font

The font is different slightly the a is different but i have other cards with either of the a in

The name of the card is supposed to be a gold-ish foil. Is it foil at all?

And the proper "a" is the one with the little hook above it.

The more I look at the font the more I realize that much of the card is the wrong font. Seems it's a well done fake. Is the background a purple-ish silver-ish swirl (the silver coming from the holofoil). I have both my Magnezone Prime and my Lanturn Prime by me, and I'm looking at many of my other cards from the HGSS sets, and the primary font on your Magnezone doesn't match any of my cards.

Attaching your picture so others can see the card for reference and offer any help.

i took some more photos. the a on the card is different yes. but i have other cards with the same a. and i managed to take a picture of the foil effect. got some photos comparing it to other cards. like my actual lanturn, lanturn holo card and other with the same font

just a close up of the fonts. with the liepard card. its not the only one with the unhooked a, most have the hooked a tho

sorry for the bad photos. but yeah. i didnt even know that there were fake cards. if its fake how did it end up in a booster pack. its a confusing one

I'll see if it compares to some of my more recent cards, though I must say that Liepard's font doesn't match any of my cards from the first Black & White set.

Out of curiosity, where did you get the booster? And was it enclosed in a blister pack with the set's logo on it? Some people have been known to take valuable cards from boosters and insert fakes in their place and reseal boosters.

I got the booster pack from a newsagent they keep them behind the counter nothing different about any of the packs i buy like 100 Aust ralian dollars at a time all were as hardto open as eachother no packs

Looked any different to when i normally shop for them i check them to make sure they are not yughio

Yeah, the first thing my eyes went to was the name. The font is different from the originals. I would definitely have been upset and try to return it to the seller. Or, you can trade it with a newer player for good cards ;P lol
