My favourite game overall is Wild ARMs. The music was stunning, it was Sony's first RPG franchise, and it was one of the first games to have 3D battles--but the story of the game got me so into it and the characters.

I love this game so much, that when I was little, I would pretend I was playing it in real life constantly.

Well, being a hardcore gamer this is not an easy choice, aside from the Pokemon franchise, if I had to pick one franchise I couldn't so here are my two favorites:

Zelda
Metroid

I would put other franchises like Resident Evil or Castlevania but since I am hardcore gamer I didn't list them because not all of the entries in the franchise are great.

Dragon Quest series (DQ7 mostly)

Final Fantasy series (FF6 mostly)

Pocket Monsters (3rd gen mostly)

SaGa series (SaGa Frontier is the best)

MGS (Snake Eater is my fav)

Super Robot Wars (Alpha series I like :D )

Armored Core (3 is the best. From 3 SilentLine, the game starts to get more boring...)
