Favorite GTA Vice City radio stations
I know that a lot of us here at PC are fans of the Grand Theft Auto series. While the first 2 games were only overhead, it gave us a taste of what GTA has to offer. It was only when Grand Theft Auto III debuted on the PS2 in 2001 that it not only open the door, it kicked it right off its hinges. It brought us gamers a big city to discover and roam around in, lots of vehicles to use and drive around in, funny dialogue, the introduction of Lazlow, who became famous due to his participation in the games, a good story and its violent and sexual content made it the target for anti-video game violence crusaders like Jack Thompson and Joe Lieberman.
Nonetheless, GTA III set a standard that only Rockstar Games could pull off. And they did it again with Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It improved on a lot of what GTA III so good, plus it was set in the 1980's for us gamers who were children of the 80's. With a bigger world, made up like Miami beach and influenced heavily from the hit show "Miami Vice", they added a lot of real music from the 1980's in Vice City that just was the icing on the cake. Because of the introduction of music I grew up listening to, one my my favorite things was to jack a motorcycle, a new addition into the GTA world and just ride around doing drive-bys while listening to music from the station Wave 103, V-Rock or Emotion 98.3.
So, if any of you have played Vice City, what are you favorite radio stations from the game? There are a total of 9 stations, 7 of which played a certain genre of music while the last 2 were talk radio stations that had a lot of funny dialogue go on with the people on them. The stations are:
V-Rock: Heavy metal, hard rock, thrash metal and glam metal, hosted by Lazlow before he went to San Andreas and back to Liberty City.
Wave 103: New Wave, synthpop, dance and pop rock, hosted by Adam First, almost a clone of Flash FM
Emotion 98.3: Pop rock and Power Ballads, hosted by Latin Lover Fernando Martinez
Flash FM: Pop music, new wave and rock, hosted by Toni, a stereo typical valley girl airhead, almost plays the same music as Wave 103
Wildstyle: Old school hip hop and electro, hosted by real life 1980's DJ Mr. Magic
Fever 105: Disco R&B and soul, hosted by Oliver "Ladykiller" Biscuit, who mentions food a lot.
Radio Espantoso: Caribbean style music, salsa and Latin music, hosted by DJ Pepe
K-Chat: A talk station hosted by Amy Sheckenhausen, who interviews a Steve Irwin wannabe, Norse deity Thor, a French actor, Football player B.J. Smith and Love Fist lead singer Jezz Torrent.
VCPR: "Pressing Issues", a round table discussion show hosted by Maurice Chavez, who wants to "Press the issue" on topics such as morality, Perception and positive thinking and public safety.
I might make a San Andres version of this poll later. Also, this is multiple choice. So, vote for any of the stations you like.
