Robert Downey Jr. He has a plethora of good movies, Tropic Thunder is imo his best performance.
- That being said, I don't really have a most favorite, I do like those who's movies are always great: Daniel-Day Lewis, Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mads Mikkelsen, Michael Fassbender, Ryan Gosling, Alicia Vikander, Cate Blanchett, Saoirse Ronan, Mark Ruffalo, Jessica Chastain, Tom Hardy, Samuel L. Hmm. Favorite actors. This question is always so extremely hard to answer, because there's just that many good actors out there. And some get the recognition, some don't.
First off, Tom Hardy. Absolutely a beast of an actor. His Mad Max performance was outstanding. It made the movie what it was supposed to be. The Drop. Damn, diverse as well. Such a different role from what he usually plays, yet it was so good. The Revenant. Well, I know Leo FINALLY got his oscar. But, I actually hoped Tom Hardy would get it in this case. Because holy hell that acting of him.. He just MADE people hate him, it was his role and he made sure to do it good. Oh, and we can't forget about.. He's a big boy. For you.
Joseph-Gordon Levitt. Hm, still one of my favorite actors. Started of as a kiddo in Third Rock from the Sun, now played in several big movies like Inception, The Darkn Knight Rises, Looper.. and more. He even directed and played his own movie, how much of a boss do you have to be to do that, right?
Matthew McConaughey. Dem abs... But seriously. I mean, I don't have much to say, but his Interstellar role have me so much love for him. Sure, he plays in a lot of awful movies, but he's definitely worth a mention because of the career he built. And, because of that Interstellar performance, I just have to put him in my list.

@OP: Enrico colantoni, I can definitely agree. He plays a somewhat big role in a show I'm currently watching (Person of Interest) and I absolutely love how he plays it. Also, Flashpoint is very good indeed.

and I'll describe in greater detail the ones I've been like keeping a really good eye on:
Christian Bale - while most people may know him for his performance as Batman and Bruce Wayne in the Chris Nolan movies, some people tend to remember him from American Psycho as the ever lovable serial killer Patrick Bateman. American Psycho was the first ever Christian Bale movie that I've seen and I'm really quite surprised at how great he is when it comes to giving life to a character. Batman and Bateman. What a nice coincidence. Also, he's one of those actors who can definitely push themselves when they have to do a starring role. This is a guy who willingly lost a ton of weight in order to play as the lead character from The Machinist, and had to gain some mass and muscle in order to play Batman.
Karl Urban - absolutely underrated actor in my book. He's mostly had a great run being the supporting actor in most movies but dear god when he's given a starring role, he can definitely carry it. He has Star Power. I mean, he did his best to make even that sh*tty Doom movie work and he surely carried so well as Dredd. I absolutely love this guy's level of talent.
Vincent Reagan - he's another of those actors that is often cast in the more supportive roles. Those who have seen more historical fantasy movies may recognize him as the likes of the "captain" or "2nd in command guy" like in Troy, 300, and many more. His level of acting is amazing and i feel that its a sin to not give him a starring role.
Tom Hardy - someone already mentioned why he's such a beast of an actor, and yep I definitely have to agree. After seeing his amazing Bane performance from The Dark Knight Rises, I had to see whatever movies he starred in or had a major role and I immediately approved.

oh i keep seeing people talk about that tv show... maybe i should watch it too because i like him haha
