3rd Gen Favourite Gift Pokémon

    Throughout Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, FireRed and LeafGreen several Pokémon are given for free as gifts. In Ruby and Sapphire, the player gets to choose between one of three starters: Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip, receives a Wynaut egg, a Castform, Beldum and also in Emerald, is given the choice between Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile. In FireRed and LeafGreen, the player is iven the choice between Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, receives an Eevee, Lapras and a Togepi egg, as well as given the choice between Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee.

    Which one of these gift Pokémon were your favourite? What other gift Pokémon would you like to have received? Where/how would you get it? Which Pokémon did you get when you were given options of several?
     
    My favorite was Beldum, TBH. I just love its evolutionary line XD;;.
     
    Lapras has to be my favorite... it was funny when I kept using Perish Song against the Elite 4. But that aside, I still like Lapras as it is also a very strong Pokemon, and I used it against Lance's dragons.
     
    While I never really used any of them that much, my two favorite would have to have been Eevee (from FR), and Castform (from Sapphire). Not long after getting my Eevee, I traded it over to Sapphire, and trained it up enough so it evolved into Umbreon, then traded it back to Fire Red. It ended up being one of my go to Pokemon throughout the game, and it currently lives on my HeartGold.

    As for Castform, I found that it was pretty bad at battling, but had great use in the Pokemon Contests. The Castform I got is still the only Pokemon that I've beaten the Master Contest rank with (in Beauty), and was the first Pokemon I had that had more than 10 ribbons once I transferred it over to Platinum.
