Favourite Japanese Movie

Ah... aside from most of the Pokemon movies -- laugh and die -- that award would probably go to Kiki's Delivery Service. I've always been a sucker for Studio Ghibli films, but that one has stood out to me the most, maybe because it was the first one I ever watched.

I just like the innocence and simplicity of it; the movie can be enjoyed by both young and old alike. I personally prefer the original Japanese version over the dub, but either one is worth watching, in my opinion. My only complaint is that Disney added some extra (unnecessary) music to a few scenes, and Phil Hartman as Jiji obviously isn't as cute as Rei Sakuma. XD

It's either Spirited Away (one of the only Miyazaki films I've seen, CN should do their Month of Miyazaki thing again) or Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa. Both great films.

If I had to choose an animated one because I want to and I feel like it, it would probably have to be Howl's Moving Castle or SteamBoy because for the animation and the setting is amazing.

As for just a Japanese movie, then I have no idea. =/

My favorite animated movies would be My Neighbor Totoro and Tales from Earthsea, but two really great Ghibli movies.

Live action movie, Koizora, without a doubt it's got to be the best Japanese movie I've ever seen. The plot is a little cliche and some of the supporting cast members were a little hammy, but most of it was so well acted that I didn't care about its fault.

Yeah, I had to wonder if the OP was talking about animated movies or live-action movies as well, but since it wasn't specified I suppose I will just list both. My favorite animated Japanese movies is either Howl's Moving Castle or Kiki's Delivery Service and my favorite live-action Japanese movies are Touch and Linda Linda Linda.

The Japanese the Grudge 2(Ju On) or something like that was scarier than the American on and I also like a movie called The Hospital.

Spirited Away. It is an excellent film with a deep and well thought story. Its characters are written wonderfully. In particular, Chihiro is an outstanding character who undergoes great character development over the course of the film. I also like the characters' relationships, especially the one between Chihiro and Haku. Furthermore, the film's animation is superb.

Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, also known as The Girl Who Lept Through Time.
A great story that was just as greatly presented, also packing a wonderful soundtrack and flawless voice acting.

Following closely are My Neighbor Totoro and The Grave of Fireflies. I do like the Pokémon movies aswell- unlike most episodes from the anime, they're quite entertaining and the storylines are usually above average.

I'm a big fan of Howl's Moving Castle. =3 It's fun to watch, AND a great movie to play Foreign Film Dub to! XD I've done it before, it was awesome. I was the girl who became the old lady. When she was looking at the boy, while he was trying to keep her from going upstairs, I went "You got some porn up there or something?" That was before I watched the actual movie, when I did I realized I was actually pretty close. XD

I like all miyazaki film but especially I love sen to chizuru<sorry I dont know the english title.> ,princess mononoke.
I also like japanese horror too.

I saw Princess Mononoke recently, and it was GREAT! Right up there with Spirited Away.
