Favourite Pokemon Game of all Time

Silver. G/S were the last time, imo, that Nintendo tried hard to truely improve and innovate Pokemon sequels. They were the most ambitious, I think. Also, the newer games are just too "cutesy". G/S were more edgier I think, because after that, the Pokemon artwork got overly cartoonish and kiddy-friendly and the new generations of Pokemon are mostly missing that intimidating look like you'd see from Pokemon like Houndoom. Not to mention G/S didn't have any stupid beauty contests. G & S: Best games, and the peak of the series.

no one loves PMD~ too bad, its one of my favourites.

Pokemon Platinum. But when I get my hands on SoulSilver, that will probably change.

come to think of it, my first game was emerald, i like it too!

Pokemon Gold Version. Period.

Emerald for main series Mystery Dungeon 2 for spin offs (I can't decide they're both really good and md2 is by far the best spin off with ranger 2 coming second (they're both much better than their predecessors with better plots and gameplay)

Well I really love Pokemon Platinum, Emerald, Crystal and the Mystery Dungeon games the most

Me too apart from Crystal as I never played it

Silver for the memories and substantial upgrades that made me so happy at the time. It was close to the most fun I had playing a videogame so it's gonna take alot to knock that off for me.

*sighs*

Sapphire . It was my 1st ever GBA Game . I played some PC Games up to 2003 when I was 8 but , I still remember on my 1st Save I had like 500 hours of play . Until I satarted restarting every 2 hours . Such funny days when I got my GBA To school and the whole clasroom looked at me , and not at our mate who still had a GBC with Pokemon Gold .

So nice memories.....

Yellow ftw!! It's the only game that has challenged me, eg Koga is sometimes impossible with his lv. 50 Venomoth that uses Double Team all the time, and my pokemon was always around lv. 45... Second comes the GSC and last DPPt because just look at the pokes. They look like **** :D, *coughbidoofcough* and has 14 legendarys. 8 in RSE is still okay but 14?!

Crystal by far.

First I owned and the main reasons are:

~ Best plot
~ Best graphics (at the time offcourse)
~ Most nostalgic ;)
~ 2 regions (I was sooooo suprised by that)
~ Best music by far
~ Stays fun even when you start over
~ Interaction. The key word of the succes I think. The world interacted more then ever seen before and even ever seen after. As the time changed so did it in the game unlocking features and pokemon, filling up your pokedex, also by calling bug catchers. Collecting special items (schoolboys) keep on fighting with the same trainers and a little help of buena's password made sure that after getting 16 badges, and even after defeating red for 20 times and the league 70 you still want to keep training. This is also the main thing I missed with the generation after.

Off course g/s where almost as good in these aspects, however I base the choice on crystal because of personal preferences, plainly because I owned that one first and thereby played it longer.

besides that I fully agree with TheDude5000

I was addicted to the Pinball game when i was younger but my favorite would be Crystal (now remade as HGSS so i guess them now)

You forgot Rangers xD

Oh yeah Hey You! Pikachuu! That was a good one...when you got him to listen...

And as I have played the original G/S, I must say that they are great games, some of my favorites. But, they aren't my favorite pokemon games. They're better then R/S, but Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, Platnium, HG and SS are all better.

But my favorite is a tie between Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2, and Pokemon Heart Gold. Both are amazing games that I would recommend to anyone who hasn't played them. I can't do that for any other pokemon game.

How about a top 10 list instead, 'kay?

10. Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia

Although my wrists hurt after a while, Pokemon Ranger brought a brand-new, interesting way to catch Pokemon and Shadows of Almia, just packed on the extra Pokemon. An okay story, nice graphics, an okay soundtrack made this Pokemon game worth playing and just a fun game.

9. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team

I never really got my grubby hands on Explorers of Time or Darkness but dang, BRT was epic. A decent story, graphics, a cool soundtrack and plenty of Pokemon to add to your team made this Pokemon game something new and something epic. And plenty of side-missions.

8. Pokemon Snap

Unique? Yes. But Unique doesn't always equal good. It's a good thing Pokemon Snap is just plain fun. Although you usually catch Pokemon with Pokeballs, this game lets you catch them on film and in 3D. Pokemon Snap has a special place in my heart as the little Pokemon game that could.

7/6. Pokemon Fire Red/Leaf Green

Although remakes only work about a 1/4 of the time, Fire Red and Leaf Green simply hit the ball out of the park. More areas to explore, updated music, and some of the best graphics to be on a hand held Pokemon game. To think, after 6 years after the original's release, Kanto would still be a fun region to run though again?

Definitely gold for being my first one, plus nothing really compares to getting all the way to the championship just to find out that your only halfway done with the game, really it blew my mind as a kid! Emerald in second mainly for the battle frontier

Can't really say, but probably Silver or Emerald.

Silver had two regions (even if one was water-downed from the original), 16 gym leaders, and a good amount of Pokemon. It also had Lugia before the E4 :D

But Emerald had both Teams as enemies and it had harder gym leaders. Also had some great memories on it. :)

Don't really know then, but I have a feeling hgss will be my favorite since, by the looks of it, they fixed a lot of the problems I had with Silver.
I'll have to see myself.
