Features in old games you never tried playing until now?

So basically, are there any minigames, or game features, or anything in older games that you never bothered with previously, but then only started to do it in a recent playthrough?

For me, it's the Roto rally in Shield. Had no idea what exactly it was previously, but in this playthrough I wanted to find another way of grinding for watts, and then tried it out by any luck. And then turns out it does provide watts as rewards, so now I use it in my current playthrough first time, never used it in previous playthroughs.

Contests in RSE were something I never touched until my most recent playthrough of Emerald. I don't remember exactly why I did one, maybe it was just out of curiosity or because I didn't really understand PokeBlocks or something? I spent a lot of time playing them in Platinum but hadn't learned how they worked in Emerald for the longest time.

There are some stuff I've never done that I'd like to, but for now that's just a list I'll eventually try and chew my way through.
