{~February Sprite Contest - Discussion Thread~}

I wish you all the best of luck with the contest, I know one of y0ou will win. This is only my second (I think) sprite contest I've been in so I doubt my sprite is any good.

What do you all think about this:

I advise you work on the shading, there's no need for so many shades, it brings your piece down.

Yes but I think that it still looks nice and smooth. I wanted that way because I am starting to dislike the 3 shades style that many people have (No offence vaati!).
I mean, shading with 3 tones is nice but I prefer to be a bit smoother. I hope that you understand what I'm trying to say...

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of the ol' 3 shades myself, but limiting the shades down a bit (also making them closer to each other) would make it more smoother IMO.

There's nothing wrong with the number of colors, it's just that you ought to make the dithering spread out farther so that they blend more seamlessly.

Erm.. I didn't dither it, anyway I thought I might as well try something new-ish so yeah I'm gonna keep it as it is.
Thanks for the comments though guys, i apreciate it and will use the advice for next competition.

I've actually been waiting for the judges to PM me back their results. One is almost finished with judging, another didn't judge all the entries, and the contest host hasn't really even started. I'm not willing to give them anymore time as to continue commenting on the entries, nor can I trust them as judges in the future due to this. So once the first judge pms me back with comments on all the entries (which is most likely to be today or tomorrow) I shall be posting the results.

#1 mimi fan's entry does not tie in with the theme signomi, you might want to check it out...

Actually, what people are trying to say about the dithering is right. I only used three shades on mine (Well, four on the ears). The dithering really blends it all together. Besides, it's easier than mixing so many different colors.

Yours is alleast better than mine, mine looks blocky, I suck at hearts

What do people think of my entry? It has been up for a while jsut wanted to know what you all thought

I fixed and updated my entry, deleted old post, How do you like it?
