feeling of sadness when your Pokémon faints

I don't ever get sad that the Pokemon themselves fainted, I just get frustrated (especially if it was due to a critical hit or something that really shouldn't have beat me). I think I get more upset that I either managed to under-estimated my opponent's power or over-estimated my own than I do for the individual Pokemon.

Only during nuzlockes. In regular gameplay or competitive, I imagine that my pokemon have no problems sacrificing themselves for the team effort. Just like the anime, I imagine my pokemon "fainting" as their eyes "@_@"ing, and then immediately springing back to consciousness.

But in nuzlockes, even if (imagine that) my pokemon are willing to sacrifice themselves, knowing that they're gone... well yeah, that's the joy of a nuzlocke.

I don't get sad, but upset because usually it is a crit that will make them faint, as I'd use a full-restore or switch to prevent otherwise. I don't get saddened though as I'll just heal them right up and assume they would still love me n_n
