Fighting Games!

Really? How many other fighting games do you play? Most of the people who are really into MK aren't big on other fighters. The opposite is often true too, (people who are big on fighters often list MK among their least favorite series').

I like Soul Calibur II, Eternal Champions (Sega Genesis, 1993), Dead or Alive 2 (Dreamcast), Sonic Battle (stupid, yet somehow addicting), Virtua Fighter 3TB (yet again, DC), and finally Tekken 3.

Hey, I started the bloody topic, and I own at least one copy of every MK game in existance (some on multiple platforms), other than MK3 (which I have on Midway Arcade Treasures 2).

I like the MK series too, but these new versions on PS2, and Xbox.. I don't know... I'm sort of an "old school" MK player with the original Mortal Kombat and MK 3: Gold ^^'

I dunno, it just seems weird to switch from 2D to 3D. I would have assumed that fans would have felt a certain amount of betrayal. I mean, 3D Street Fighter wasn't a success at all.

Well for me, the Street Fighter EX series is an exception becuase even though its 3D it plays almost exactly as a 2D fighter.. and also Capcom had nothing to do with it Akira did so maybe thats what affected a lot of it.

Its even worse when people say a 2D can't be good, because its not 3D and not as deep XD

But I still respect Tekken, SC I and II, Project Justice and Rival Schools because even a person like myself who is against almost all 3D fighters, had fun with them. But others.. just seem a bit too "stiff" at times with the movements. But anybody who is for 3D fighters.. don't knock 2D fighters unless you actually spent more then 5 minutes on it...

I actually enjoyed Deception more than Soul Calibur II, although I was disappointed in how fast I completely unlocked that game's myraids of secrets.

That's a cruel combo. I'm not really a fan of the N groove. I prefer to be simple and stick with C or fancy and go with custom. I'm Ken, Yuri, Hibiki. (Hibiki gets switched for Iori or Ryu sometimes). Hibiki has the craziest super combos... Kyosuke, why don't you use Kyosuke? Can you hit neo-deadly-rave with Rock? It looks so awesome...

C groove is the safe groove to use, and if it already had the ability to "run" I would be using that all the time too XD

Nice team, I know you have to use Hibiki like a medical tool to be really effective, and Yuri can really hold her own in battle.. as well as Ken of course

That Neo deadly rave combo is a bi.... hard to pull off XD

I've tried Kyosuke, he is my favourite character (of course XD), but its so hard to be effective with him against powerhouses like Sagat, his moves don't do much damage, but he arguably has the best projectile attack.

I used to always use Cammy/Ken/Ryu, but I didn't need 2 shotos so I switched to Rock, then I realized how good Sakura is in CVS2 so I switched out Ken. But I say use, whoever works for you best XD

I haven't played for a bit, but I could nail all of her supercombos. It was great. My friend can do neo-deadly-rave with Rock. It's the sweetest looking move... but it doesn't do enough damage. Yuri is suprisingly good... I don't know why I decided to try to start using her (but I did) and I've always done pretty well with her. I remember this one time I was in an arcade playing as Ken and Yuri. I had Yuri out first and I took down the other guys' first two with her. She had poor health at the start of the third round, and the other guy "started the round off with a sneaky suprise attack" (Blanka's super combo where he's in a giant electrical ball flying at you). I thought Yuri had been KOed, so I took a step back and looked around the arcade muttering unkind words... I just happened to glance back up and see that Yuri was still standing. It was a huge suprise. So I jumped back and thrashed Blanka pretty well... but did end up having her KOed. But ya, I like her a lot. She has like an 18 hit supercombo that's super easy to pull off, along with a 9 hit combo that's just a half circle. That makes it reaaallllyyy easy to get high scores (mwahaha). And everybody loves Ken... I'm better with him in SFA3 because you can link the huge flaming upper cut (forgot the name) with a shoyruken (sp?)... you can't do that in CvS2. Oh well... I love 2D fighters.

Am I the only one that thinks Rock Howard could have been better? His Terry-like moves are good, but his Geese-inspired ones totally pale in comparison to his daddy's.

My choice teams are always a mixed bag of the following characters:
-Kusanagi Kyo
-Yagami Iori
-Terry Bogard
-Kasugano Sakura
-Hibiki
-Kyosuke
-Ryu

I'd kill for a copy of MVC 2, though. Dangit, why is it so expensive?

Nice one ryan! Ken is at his best in Third Strike, you can really tell he hasn't lost his speed and strength overtime, and has even gained more in comparison to Akuma (who is still King in his own ways)

Rock may not be like "big daddy" XD, but he can still hold his own even against him, and Terry for that matter.

Kyo is a character I really admire, not just as a character, but the way you have to play him is strickly skill based, with the amount of chain combo's and cancels you have to preform in a match.

I seen MVC2 on Xbox at Toys R' US for $39.99 a few days ago... XD

That's what I'm talking about. $39.99 is the CHEAPEST I've seen it in stores, and it's how old now? Sheesh. I may have a job now, but I'm not made of money.

When I bought CvS2 it was only 20 and it was only about a year old. MvC2 is rediculous... I tried playing as Kyo. It didn't really suit me, but I could do some stuff because he is very similar to Iori (who's possibly my 3rd best). Rock's winning poses are among the dumbest in the game though... his jacket throw, his wings, and his "hold the wrist in pain" are so dorky. It's great. Yuri has a cool winning pose (the uncommon one at least. You know what I'm talking about.) but Yamazaki has the coolest when he grabs his KOed opponent by the head and holds them in the air.

Um... I think you're confused, ryan. You totally can't play SNK characters in MVC2
