Dark-psychic-fighting is way to unstable to be a starter set. The psychic can't even touch the dark types. And plus, there classic.
On the other hand, i would like to see these types as second to the originals!
Something like this...

1st
water
fire
grass

2nd
water-psychic
fire-dark
grass-fighting (would be totally beast!)

3rd
same as 2nd

That's why it's a a trio, Hank. You have to use different moves to defeat the Dark pokemon since you don't see a Fire-type trying to Fire Blast a Water-type.

Um... heres how it breaks down.

Anime: Hitmonlee could have some unique combination in a contest battle. But i like hitmonchan for a straight up fight!

Cards: Hitmonlee uses less energy, and they do about the same damage. ... so i think there about even. (hitmonchan has higher hp)

Game: Its really if u wan't defence or offence i suppose.

@ the starter agument:
Psychic has no effect on dark types, but i'm pretty sure fire moves to a little against water types. (but i'm not sure... i only used 1 fire type in all my games)

but yeah i suppose u guys are right.
