Filler Series Ideas

Everyone loves old characters and Pokemon but everyone knows they can't all be there so I was thinking of an idea of another filler series like the Orange Islands. I was thinking instead of a journey like the Orange Islands, just do around 30 episodes - like the Orange Islands - around a big Championship, tournament sort of thing that could be made to introduce new Pokemon and characters but let us know how old characters are going.

I was thinking the regulations for entry was that a competitor had to have competed in five championships like Ash will have done after Unova and maybe Paul will of done also older characters like Ritchie may of done by now. Also Gym Leaders can also compete meaning some fan favourite Gym leaders can come back and I was thinking Norman would bring May and Max with him which gives them a chance to show us how they are doing but also Misty as well. As it is like the best of the best because the competitors will have competed in at least 5 Championships it means Ash will use his toughest Pokemon which he didn't in the Sinnoh Championships.

Also I think it would be a good way to introduce a rival for the series after because with Trip I think he was just Paul again but at least Paul had actually been in championships before.

Does anyone think something similar to this would be a good idea as it would satisfy a lot of fans I think and I know personally I would be delighted if they did a small filler season like it. I mean they have done the Orange Islands and the Battle Frontier so I wouldn't see why they wouldn't do one anyway.

well yes I do love the idea of reunification. However, the championship thing is a little hard. Not that it is a bad idea, but as you can see Ash is still an amateur sometimes, going to such League is not compatible yet. However I do like the way you put it, All I am trying to say is that it won't happen soon after Unova, if they are gonna do such thing, then they need to work on Ash progress and skills, then there would be a chance of enrolling in such a Major League. Just want you to know that I'd love to see those Old characters too in any mean!

I love your ideas and they do make a lot of sense, but however - like the above poster mentioned the whole, having to "have to have competed in at least five leagues" sounds a little complicated. I think a much better way to get around this would be by invitation, this way I'm sure other rivals Ash has faced like Ritchie and Paul could enter, even Gary could be invited, including a few other gym leaders that would have been recognized by the league. So yeah, it could happen. But I still think Ash still needs that stable development beforehand, first.

I'd like to see a filler series where Ash and his friends from past and present anime series compete in a special competition called Pokemon Super Battle & Contest League. There's a Battles Competition and a Contest Competition. Plus, I'd make some so-called "characters of the day" from past episodes make a return. I'd make this series feature all Pokemon, Gen I to V. Both Trainers and Coordinators compete, Trainers can earn special medals for coming 1st, 2nd and 3rd. And the same for ribbons for Coordinators. The winners also receive a Golden Pikachu figure.

Also, I'd make Team Rocket appear for comic relief and have some of Ash's friends and rivals have new Pokemon.
