Final Fantasy 9

Okay, I just made it to disc 4. I went treasure hunting with Choco and found a chest that took me to the Chocobo place. The chubby chocobo gave me the sky ability. But how do I use it? It said I can fly to forests or something. But how? Please tell me if you know. I feal like such an idiot now, cuz it'll probably be obvious.

Go to a normal forest while on Chocobo, and press X. To land, hover over a different forest and press O. Again, these forest can not be Chocobo's forests.
