    If my chain was at about 35 what about are my chances of seeing a shiny by constantly resetting? I can't get to 40, i keep failing lol. it hurts.

    chain? what do you mean chain?

    I say you should keep trying you have alot better chance at a shiny at 40 than at 35

    Ive got several shinies before 40, if you can't continue your streak further than I would suggest just sitting there and resetting, it will take a little more time and repels but you will get it eventually

    35 is okay, but you need to reset a lot to find a shiny at that number. My friend was really really patient and found a shiny as quick as early 10's. But, the chances do increase a bit when you are in the 40-100 range so try to top at least 40 first and be careful at 35 if you keep breaking them. Hope you have some better luck. ^^

    Okay no one answered my question. What is this chain and how do I get them.

    pokeradar... search the forums theres some good threads about it

    This seems promising. ^_^

    Chaining is just using the pokeradar to see the same pokemon in a row and if you see about 40+ in a row, then sparkling patches containing rare shiny pokemon (same species that you've been seeing ;P) might appear. Though this may seem cool, it's sorta tricky and there's quite a few rules to follow in order to increase you chances of seeing the same pokemon so many times. Chaining ain't for the fainthearted either btw. D;

    Oh okay now I get it.

    Correct me if im wrong but doesn't the chance of seeing a shiny go from 1/8192 to 1/50 when you reach 40? I remember someone saying it's a 2% chance at 40.

    nobody knows the exact chances that it increases the shiny chance to but it seems to increase semi-proportionally

    EDIT: to answer the topic poster my friend just reset for a shiny nosepass at 31 and only used 56 super repels
