That's been proven false all 3 times I've attempted since last night. >>
Also, Ike isn't very good at dodging those spears at ALL.

That's called proper BS. Marcus should be benched after 2 or 3 chapters and shouldn't even be called a spearhead. Not to mention Nintendo Power actually made more n00bs than experts.

As for Ilyana, I recomend using her if you're not an advantage whore and use Soren. You have to be patient with Mia though as she has quite a low magic growth rate and speed. (I gave her a thief band through my second playthrough anyway) Otherwise, I just use Tormod or Ilyana as my main mages.

so would you guys(and gals) here think that titania is just like marcus? i mean she gains 3 exp for those Ike gets 35 and such. Not to mention she won't be the best paladin if you get oscar or...umm kainer(spelling?) up there. Also, i can't use the master seal on Ike :\ . i guess it's only for people who are impatient with their units.
 
Master Seal = good for selling only

Ike autopromotes like all main lords in Fire Emblem.
Never promote a unit that is below level 20. Ever.

And Titania's not necessarily a Jeigan because she can turn out great... unlike Jeigan, Alan, and Marcus... now those guys suck...
 
But I'd think she'd be most useful when you're fighting promoted units; so she can actually get decent exp~

No... just keep using your regular units. Just use her in the first 7 chapters or so, use her as a meatshield up to chapter 10 (take off all of her weapons) and bench her afterwards. You only have a limitted amount of Bonus exp anyway.

Anything I should know for Chapter 9 in PoR? I took a look over the map before stopping, and it doesn't seem like it'll cause me too many issues.
 
Before you let the guards spot you, set up a strong defense on the entrance and on the gap near Sephiran's cell. (Talk to Sephiran but he won't join. I wish he would though) Then just wait it out. When there's no more enemies attacking you, go have Oscar talk to Kieran and Ike to Brom and Nephenee. Direct them to halt because you don't want them to roam around. Also, watch out for the boss because he moves.

Hire Volke and always have Volke in your team have him grow at least one level per chapter.

For Nephenee, if you're not using Mia, give her the slim lance and an iron lance. When you get vantage, give it to Nephenee so that she'll attack first always, and when wrath is activated, she'll always do a critical first.

Kieran will need patience but eventually, he'll turn out as good as Oscar, or probably better. (I gave him swords because I lack in sword units...)

Brom, just bench him. You don't need to waste your time on him.

And yeah... I think that's most of the chapter.

im chp.9 if you have chest deys, it would be a nice idea to NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT hire Volke as he will be a mighty downfall in my opinion. he costs alot and is not worth it. i didnt hire him, but got the items i wanted...^^ b/c i had the SG...^^' if you want him, you can have him, but another theif will foin your party like 3 chaps, later, for FREE!!!!!^^ so, its petinent that you choose carefully!^^

What the? What are you talking about? Volke is in my frontlines after he promotes... in fact, he's the only thief that promotes! And he maxes out attack and speed, which usually thieves only max out speed. And Sothe SUCKS! And you said you need weapons? Volke can't weild swords... he only weilds knives, daggers, and stilletoes.

And he only charges you 50 gold. You don't really pay him 10,000 gold because he's an intelligence spy. Come on...

blue flygon, there is one thing in Fire Emblem you need to know: Whenever someone walks up to you and asks you to pay for them to be in your team, PAY! They will always be one of the best or will be important part of your game. (lol Farina)

well, i DID save a new file where that chap. was so you dont hafta dill me!>< but, i will get Volke and see just how good he is... but dont hurt me for an opinion...>< -get scared easily-

That's my philosophy--if I like them, I don't care how good or bad they are, and sometimes they end up not phailing XD Besides, just because a character has good chances of stat growth doesn't mean they're going to phail. Most of my units phail anyway (worst FE luck ever), so the good units tend to even out with the bad ones.
