Fire Emblem (revived again)

if jaffar doesn't kill you first... though hector would be willing to fight him :P

EDIT: who here thinks that it would be cool if you could control your unit in a battle so you can control the dodging and hit rate, and perhaps even the strength of your hit? as in like...ddr fashion, YOU become the unit. that might be kind of interesting. so, example: a unit is attacking your guy, right when he attacks with his lance/axe/sword/magic/bow, you can duck to a side or jump out of the way and then perhaps your unit would attack by programming, but then, it's possible to never get hit! so it's like paper mario's A/B block attack. with perfect timing, you don't get hurt. so basically, in 4 words, real time fire emblem. i guess

Then the game wouldn't be called Fire Emblem. =D

w00t my Boyd doesn't suck this time around. That fighter band (or whatever it's called) is actually helping! :)

I would give Boyd the swordband. Just for his speed and skill, you know...

And Boyd that is good is because of the RNG and not just because of the bands...

But yeah... I'm guessing that Nintendo might pull FE10 for the GCN and FE11 for DS. Kind of a double release. FE10 would be the sequel of FE9 and FE11 could be the prequel of FE9 or another story (FE9 is currently debated on whether having a prequel or a sequel).

then why not at this point make FE10 for revolution? not like they can make these games over night. it would have nicer 3D graphics and it would be a nice way to get fire emblem and the revolution more popularized, perhaps.

Those were my exact thoughts.

A turn-based strategy game would be useless on a motion-based system, since the greatest extent of motion in the game is to position your units.

But then again, almost anything is useless on a motion-based system...

but hey, fire emblem's still a really fun game.
Of course it is. That's why a motion based system is unecessary. Besides, Fire Emblem wouldn't be called Fire Emblem if you can move the character's attacks, etc....

I was to sad to see that there wasn't dark magic and that the thief/assassin can not use swords. But what I most hate of this game, is that it doesnt have a support conversation room and it don't have multiple endings.

so nothing happens if you get people to support up besides biorythem? does anyone end up together?(as in ike and elincia maybe??? just a wild guess)

the FE i finally decide to work on supports and nothing comes out of it....great. tell me, is ashnard or the black knight harder?

The black knight is harder, you have limited turns to beat him and you need to train Mist. Luckly I beated him, I have two Aether. But Ashnard in hard mode is more difficult than Black knight in hard mode.

phew...if ashnard was harder then i just might as well quit, sheesh. you know, i've never really took the time to notice what makes hard...well, hard. i know there's more enemies, do they have better stats? as in, ashnard hard has better stats than in normal or easy?

Stats make an enemy harder.

Say an 18 Resistance General would be hard because it would be harder to damage them via magic and they're hard to kill directly in the first place. Same goes for 15 defense Sages. Or Bosses who have 40 strength with a silver weapon or so.

Another factor for hard mode is that the enemy has a better terrain advantage than you, say FE5: Thracia 775 where the enemies have monstrous stats and you're forced to play in a FOW. Or in FE7 where you are forced to play with a limited amount of units. Basically 6 against 30 + Reinforcements.

does playing in hard mode make your level ups worse? or is it just because your stats just aren't kicking as much butt as they would in normal mode?
