Lol, sorry if someone else has the same name for a hack, it's rather generic.
Hack of__________________________________________________________
Story____________________________________________________________
Your on an island, which was created to test your skills as a pokemon master. You get one starter at the beginning, and must work your way to the end of the island, where you face some sort of final test. At the end, you reach a mountain that has a bunch of famous pokemon masters. You must reach the top of the mountain to become the greatest trainer ever.
Objective_________________________________________________________
Create a game with:
A map that has lots to explore, yet not too hard to get around.
Gyms that are close together, so training is the real challenge.
Less story that no one cares about, more pokemon.
Features__________________________________________________________
No rival
No opposing teams
Ability to obtain every single pokemon up to the third generation (because everyone has their favorites)
some custom sprites/palettes
custom maps - all routes, no cities.
more to do and explore after you get to the "end" of the game:
meet/battle famous trainers
secret places
lots of hidden items

So far just me, I'm not really a scripter, but I'm a good spriter. If you wanna help, I could use a scripter. Pretty easy stuff, mostly signs, which I might even be able to do, but a couple things I need someone else to do, such as a list for picking your starter (like the list for picking which island to go to on firered). And a guard that stops you and whatnot.

I have mapped the first 3 areas with gyms, and everything below it, as well as the two orange squares above it (just a route for training and catching pokemon): 6 areas.
NOTE: I set all the catching percentages to 0%, because you can't get a starter yet, so you can walk around and check out the maps. Tell me what you think.

Characters:
The main characters, male and female.
The people who work at the island (like at the front desk, or standing around to give you things)
Gym trainers (who will all look the same, male/female versions)
competitors (other people on the island, that you can battle, male/female)
-all the people that work there should have the same feel, and should look like they work there
-main characters should look like pretty good pokemon trainers
-the regular workers should be kinda like jennys/joys, yknow
Trainers on the mountain at the end:
Ash (or red, or both),
Gary Oak,
Giovanni,
Lance the Dragon Master,
Steven Stone....
People like that. Suggest more if you want.
I have already divided the pokemon into different groups according on where they're gonna be; There will be 6 per map, except one will have 12 for the grass pokemon. Then there's pokemon you get in caves, and pokemon you get in water. But all basic pokemon(or baby) have been accounted for, and I will make pokemon that evolve via trade evolve via level instead.
So I guess we'll see where this leads. :)
