So, after coming across my old Pokemon cards, I thought I'd try to get back into it. I found a fun-looking deck online for one of my favorite Pokemon, Porygon-Z, so I wanted to give it a try. After altering the list a little, here's what I came up with; hopefully it's at least a little competitive. Go nuts, bearing in mind that I haven't played in 6 years and that I am, in fact, a n00b. :P

    Pokémon - 20
    3 Porygon GE
    2 Porygon2 GE
    3 Porygon-Z DP-35
    1 Porygon-Z LV.X MD
    2 Sentret SW
    2 Furret SW
    1 Baltoy GE
    1 Claydol LP-15
    3 Spiritomb AR
    2 Unown G GE

    T/S/S – 29
    4 Roseanne's Research
    4 Bebe's Search
    3 Volkner's Philosophy
    2 Pokémon Communication
    2 Marley's Request
    2 Night Maintenance
    2 Broken Time-Space
    2 Warp Point
    4 TM TS-1
    4 TM TS-2

    Energy – 11
    3 Call Energy
    3 Double Colorless Energy
    5 Psychic Energy

Take out Warp Point. Maybe replace it with a Balloon Berry, and a Fisherman. Energy Restores are also ver useful for recycling those energies that have been thrown away. I don't have as many new cards as I'd like through, and can't recomend some that others might recomend. I want to get into it though.

Isn't Balloon Berry too old for this format with EX Deoxys being the latest reprint? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Also, would you suggest that I add more basic Energies to fully utilize Fisherman/Energy Restore? Otherwise, they don't seem like they'd be of much help with only 2 Psychic Energies, and I don't even really need those, either.

    Thanks for the suggestions, though.
    Anyone else?

Baloon Berry is definitely too old for modified. Nothing older than Diamond and Pearl can currently be used unless it was reprinted. And you might want a couple more basic energy since Roseanne's Research only fetches basic energy (there will be an equivalent to Fisherman for energy coming out in a set soon, but I'm not sure if that's Unleashed or a yet to be released set), and you do want to do everything you can to make sure you have enough energy to attack. This deck won't run too well without a single Claydol or Uxie (even one improves draw power significantly).

Would just a 1-1 Claydol work or do I need a Uxie as well? Uxie seems like it wouldn't be as useful as Claydol, mostly because it has its power once and then just sits there.

Do you have a suggestion as to what energies I should include? It looks like I'd need more Psychics, so maybe take out the Cyclones and a DCE to bump it up to 5?

    Deck Updated!

Let me know what you think!

Looks solid. I'd playtest it, though, to see how it runs. (b'-')b

Also, a pretty good combo to get a Pokemon and its evolution out ASAP is to use Roseanne's for two basics and then use Pokemon Communication to bring the evolution to your hand, if you didn't see that potential already.

I've mostly been trying to learn what these cards do rather than focusing on combos. That combo does make sense, though, now that you pointed it out.
Once I physically have the cards in front of me, more combos will hopefully become apparent to me.

Anyway, thanks, as always. You've been a big help! :D

After playing a couple solo matches on Redshark, I've concluded that this deck is way too slow to survive, at least against Donphan Prime. Porygon-Z is way too reliant on TMs, so even though he can potentially do a ton of damage, he doesn't do it consistently enough. It might make a fun deck to play casually, but I don't see it winning any tournaments.

I've moved on to an Ampharos/Raichu build. Hopefully that one will be at least a little more consistent.

I was thinking about using those versions, but then I felt like I'd have to build a whole deck around spreading damage to the bench, and I don't know of any good spread Pokemon.
Anyway, the deck is destroyed by Donphan anyway, so I might just have to build a water deck. :(

A combo that looks interesting is blastagator it 's the new blastoise from UL and feraligator prime you could run dawn stadiums to heal about 20 every turn and snipe for 100 on the bench!!!
