I like to build my teams mainly using my brain as opposed to snatching 6 sets from Smogon, and I recently came up with this. Please bare in mind this is mainly for 3v3 in the Battle Spot, but I do accept all 6v6 challenges also, so I kind of want it to work for both. I am aware it contains what Smogon considers Ubers, but I refuse to allow a website tell me I can't use certain non-legendaries, plus the battle spot is full of Blaziken/Mega Mawile/Mega Kangaskhan etc. so what the hell. I am currently on a Battle Spot record of 10 wins and 10 losses which is why I'd like to run it by some of you guys on here. I've also played about 7 or 8 random 6v6's and lost only 2 or 3 of those. Anyway here's my team:
@ Lum Berry
Ability: Speed Boost
Jolly Nature
IVs: 31/31/31/31/31/31
EVs: 252 Atk 252 Spe 4 HP
Baton Pass
Blaze Kick
Protect
High Jump Kick
Standard stuff. My usual lead, the idea is to dent things and protect while gaining speed boosts to baton pass into something else.
@ Life Orb
Ability: Prankster
Naive Nature
IVs: 29/19/31/31/25/31
EVs: 76 Atk 180 SpA 252 Spe
Thunderbolt
Knock Off
Grass Knot
Thunder Wave
First time using Thundurus. I actually really like it. It's a bit frail at times, but Knock Off, STAB TBolt and Prankster TWave have saved me multiple times. Would have liked to have a little higher Attack IV but there's only so many times you can soft reset without a Master Ball ¬¬ Grass Knot because it's HP type was steel.
@ Salamenceite
Ability: Intimidate/Aerilate
Jolly Nature
IVs: 31/31/31/x/31/31
EVs: 252 Atk 252 Spe 4 Def
Dragon Dance
Earthquake
Return
Outrage
Standard Jolly DDance set. It's more than capable of sweeping if you can get a good set up on it, although sometimes I really miss Intimidate after the Mega Evolution. Thinking of ditching Earthquake for Roar because my team does lack a stat boost ruiner and Salamence has the speed to do it nicely. Earthquake obviously offers great coverage though so I'm not sure. I am considering running a Lum Berry set on it and maybe using a new mega as well.
@ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Rock Head
Adamant Nature
IVs: 31/31/31/x/31/31
EVs: 252 Atk 252 Def 4 HP
Head Smash
Waterfall
Double Edge
Yawn
I always like to throw in something a little unconventional or NU in my team, and I really do enjoy using Relicanth. Basically, RIP Talonflame. Even after a WoW or Swords Dance, Relicanth walls it, forces it to take twice the recoil of Flare Blitz/Brave Bird with Rocky Helmet, and hits it with a non-recoil 4x Head Smash, although Waterfall is normally always enough. It can be pretty devastating after a few Speed Boosts from Blaziken too. And Yawn is always good for switch baiting and is normally not expected by the opponent. Currently running Double Edge over Earthquake just for experimentation.
@ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body/Magic Bounce
Quiet Nature
IVs: 21/31/31/31/31/31
EVs: 252 SpA 252 SpD 4 Atk
Diamond Storm
Moonblast
Reflect
Stealth Rock
The only reason why I've given Diancie the mega stone is because I can't have 2x Leftovers on my team, and it's nice to be able to pick between 2 megas depending on how the game is going. Although Quiet is not the best nature for Mega Diancie, the item really is a sort of plan B or last resort. It's actually more fragile than I expected, but maybe I need to reconsider the EV spread and put some into HP? Not sure. Generally, so far I have had more success with using Mega Diancie than normal Diancie. I like Reflect, but I am considering replacing it with Earth Power, which may be particularly necessary if I put Roar on Mence. Final point on Diancie, it's banned from Battle Spot so I do need a replacement for it anyways as I can only use it in 6v6.
@ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
Modest Nature
IVs: 15/25/31/23/31/31
EVs: 252 Def 252 SpD 4 SpA
Psyshock
Toxic
Ice Beam
Moonlight
Shame about the HP and kinda the SpA IV too, but I really wanted to use a competitive Cresselia. I originally ran a Substitute/Calm Mind set but found it pretty ineffective so switched to this, and so far it's worked a bit better.
Anyway that's my team, obviously I am open to all suggestions to improve it, but there are certain Pokemon I would prefer to keep (Relicanth, Thundurus). Thanks for your time :)
