Forest Grovyle's Latest Works (NEW: 17/10/07 Oekaki Realism Tutorial!)

Thanks Amphros! :D
That's so cool that your friend is a RD fan, Blazey boy! :D It's always good to know others have heard of it. ^_^

Here's a RD oekaki I just did - realism is so hard, but I'm pleased with the result. :) It's Rimmer and Lister! Those of you who aren't familiar with RD will now be able to link the Meowths to the characters! ;)

Done with my trusty rollerball mouse. :)

Your art is amazing Forest Grovyle! All those meowths are very well done.
So are the rest of them =)

:3 wow FG!! i LOVE all of your work!! it's sooo amazing ^^;;
my favourite has GOT to be the vaporeon swimming in the coral reefs :3
it's so beautifully proportioned and i love the colouring and background and EVERYTHING ^^;;
you are truly a phemonmenal artist!! :3
i was wondering, though, on the vaporeon picture, did you use a lighten/darken tool? a highlight tool?
o.o to get the reflection effects on vaporeon's skin :3
it's very very beautiful ^^;;
@@ and i'm guessing you use photoshop for your stuff too..
o.o kura is stuck with horrible PSP ><.. and.. it doesn't have as many filters and things as PS ._.
so.. i was just wondering some ways to get an underwater effect @@
your help would be much appreciated!!
:3 and *thumbs up* on all your pictures ^^;;
you are an inspiration to us all!!

Awwwww thanks Master Chief and Kura! :D *hugs*
In answer to your question, Kura, I used oekaki for that picture and used the watercolour tool to get the highlights. ^_^ On Photoshop I'd probably use the dodge/burn tools to get the same effects (I used to use PSP, too!) ;) I used to have PSP7 before we got Photoshop Elements. :) Elements is a much cheaper version and has almost all the features of the full Photoshop! ^_^

:3 neehh thank you alot for the info :33
i used to have photoshop elements and PSP7 @@ now i only have PSP7.. but i still find it much easier to use than PS elements for some reason..
probably because all the colours are easrier to pick up.. and all the windows are there so you dont have to keep switching ._...
neh.. i dont know if the hue-tool can also work.. ._. kinda like a "change to target" tool..
o.o i dont know if PS has that..
anyways :3 thank you alot for the info, i'll be sure to experiment with it and see how it goes ^^;;
thank youu <3

PS generally has more tools than PSP, but some of them are harder to find. :)

New pic today - another RD realism oekaki. I'm sorry to all the people who've asked me for requests recently :( I get a lot of PMs asking for requests, and I really don't like to have to turn them down, but I don't have enough time to do both requests and my own art...*hugs* I wish I could, but uni work weighs down on me heavily.

That's really good! It's a lot better than what I could do! Of course I never draw people =P Nice "mouse"writing at the bottom. You should do commisions or something or sell prints you make lots of money xD But then you couldn't really draw copyrighted stuff...
Oekaki plus mouse for me isn't so great. x( I can't draw to well on oekakis for some reason.
PSP is better for stuff like pixel editing.
PS is better for art.

Thanks for your suggestions and comments, guys! :D I'll be thinking about those! ^_^
I have a new pic today. :) A lone wolf wanders the plain...but where is he going? This was done as part of a Secret Santa. PaintBBS with mouse and several hours of work. :)

Hope you like! :)

awesome work, i especially like the mountains, they look real. As for the wolf, i think you should get its pose right o.o;

Wow, good job on the mountain...the only gripe I have is that the wolf gets a little buried in the pic and have to look twice to really see him...

But the overall effect of the drawing is just gorgeous

Ooh, "The Wanderer" got bumped back up! XD Yeah, the wolf was an afterthought - I was originally going to have him much closer to the screen, but I decided against it...it definitely isn't my fave part of the drawing XD But I'm glad you like the mountains! ^_^

Wow, the mountain rocks, too good FG. You are best. It's no wonder you get the best artist award every month in MOTM. And sorry for the critisicm but the wolf looks kinda like a Donkey from the distance.

Yeah, I know XD It's definitely not one of my fave pieces. There's always room for improvement! ^_^ I drew the head a certain size and then made the body too small without going back to change it XD Ah well...everyone has to learn from their mistakes! :D

My connection isn't that great, so it's not loading all the pictures properly... :( The last realistic one looked great, and I can agree that the mountains look great in that pic, but I can't see the rest.... :\ Great stuff!

Sometimes I worry about posting in this thread since someone voted this thread a 1 star rating once...:( That hurt for quite a while, but I feel better about posting more art now. :)
