Memories of her past still haunted her. Saphira tried to keep a striaght face, but tears were threatening to fall out of her eyes. They didn't get it. She was a danger to everyone in both villages. Cole looked everyone else in the eyes, daring them to come any closer. Saphira had to reveal everything to them now, before it was too late.
"Look, you guys..." She started, trying to find enough courage to tell them her dark secret, "I am the daughter of Kain, but that is more of a curse than a blessing. Everyone knows the story of Kain, the one who protected both villages when they were one, don't they?" Without waiting for a responce, she continued,"Well, he... Was facinated with dark magic. When he was still an young lad, and a protector, he became and apprentice to a dark magician, and evil lord. The story says he fell in battle but that was a lie. He faked his own death."
Saphira took another shakey breath. So far so good. "He traveled to another city, on the other side of this forest. The path is hidden, and only dark beings know it. When he mastered the dark arts, he became a dark lord, causing pain and suffering to all who displeased him. During one of his spells, he... messed up. Badly. When he awoke, he was a demon, a creature of the Dark. But, he fell in love with a servant. Unfortunatly, she died shortly after I was born, and my father had no time to raise me. He sent me to train with some other dark beings."
Cole used his nose to wipe away a tear that was trickling down her cheek. Saphira kept going. "But, all of them were killed, by the one village. My father turned the village against itself. They started fighting a war among themselves, until they split. Thats why there are two cities, the North and the South. Me and one other Demon escaped. His name was Shade. I don't know what happened to him, though. My father, on the other hand, took his own life. He would rather commit suicide than be executed by the villages. I was raised in the North, trying to keep everything in. I thought if I could hide everything, it would go away. But it won't. I'm a threeat to all living things in this forest, and the surrounding areas."
