    i have searched and have not found a thread devoted to this topic so i decided to start one
    i have mine in less then two weeks and im getting pretty excited. i would love to hear any stories about formals/proms (funny or embarrasing experiences or awesome ways in which you arrived, stuff like that), or if you're about to have one i'd like to know if you're as nervous as i am :P
    (i'm having weird anxiety nightmares that i can't get everything ready on time, theyre horrible!)

    Our Fall Formal was actually yesterday!
    They're usually filled with underclassmen, so upperclassmen tend to avoid it and go to prom. I helped out with prom freshman year and it stank, so bad. They danced with the lights on, ew. I probably had more fun giving out favors with my friends than the girls had at prom, and they spent so much time finding the right dress and stuff for such a bad dance. x.x I might go to prom this year, but meh...I'm not into dances anyway.
     
    I didn't get to go to our homecoming dance... >_< But I am waiting til next year for prom!! Woot-woot!!! =^^=
    But yeah, I'm kinda nervous. Think I have my dress already... but not so sure if I'm gonna stick with that one. O_O

    dancing with the lights on? :3 thats pretty weird. i think they turn ours off. cant remember. i waitressed at the yr ten one last year and left when the dancing started. what do you mean by favours? and yeah im not big on dances too. its more of a social thing too. and the dressing up part is awesome lol
     
    well seeing that I had to switch to a new school for my senior year and they only allowed juniors and seniors into prom, I skipped it. mainly because I didn't have anyone who could go with me, and Because I still felt like an outsider (thiss feeling brought on from the switch from having a class of 9 to a class of 656) I seriously don't regret it. I don't know what I missed and probably don't care to. anyway so thats my Prom story. tadaa

    awww thatd suck. i know a few people in my year who have just moved to my school and i feel bad for them. its about celebrating the time you've had with the people in your year and the teachers and etc. im lucky ive been at my school since year seven.
     
    actually I never moved. my old school shut down due to a selfish SOB who wormed and sweet-talked his way into Admin spot and then took as much $$ and he could then resigned. now that suckd (I had been at that school since preschool and would've been the third in my family to graduate from it too)

    what????? thats crazy!!!!! its like a situation you only see on tv!!!! what an evil person!!!
     
    at least he got a little bit of what he deserved. apparently he did the same thing before us to a trucking co. in NY. they finally got him and sued him for like $500,000. I do however feel kinda sorry for his wife and daughter haing to deal with his crap and all.
    ok now that I've probably spammed up a couple posts I'll get back on track with another Formal story this time a little happier moment.
    Ok so at my old school since it was a christian school, we didnt hold dances/Proms/Formals we had Homecoming and Senir Banquets. (yes dinner was served at them) anyway so the final year I was there I went to the Senior Banquet which was awesome even though the entirety of the highschool was invited. I finally got a date with the girl I had been Crushing on for like year and a half. it was it was awesome (and I was totally a nervous wreck around her) but I was funny to watch the teacher chaperones (who started the dancing) do the electric Slide and a couple of the even discoed for us. [woot! go Mr. Brown Go!]

    Yeah...except I'm not much of a dancer. I'd probably do a lot of techno stuff, maybe some slower-ish songs of pretty much any genre, or some GOOD popular music, which is scarce.

    Oh, and by rap, I meant the useless nonsense about getting drunk and wired and other stuff. There is a minute amount of what I would consider good rap out there, but minute is the key word.

    Alright, this thread was made by by home-girl Lauren and wanted to say this agian, Me and my girl Rachel been in and out of each others lives and wen to every prom our school had and we are still going to do that tell we get booted out of a prom.
     
    I actually get to attend this year, but I don't know, I'm not that big of a dancing fan. I get really bored of it after a while. However, I've heard a ton of great things from my friends who have gone and I love dress shopping 8D It depends, if I'm the only one out of my friends going dateless, I'll probably skip out because that would just be boring, no?
     
    I've attended two formals this year, my own one being just the other week. Nothing in particular happened at either to be honest, it's just all people having a good time. The food was fine, the music was good (most of the time), and I danced a bit as well. They always seem to play the Nutcracker though, which annoys me since I hate that song, but since everyone knows the dance, everyone dances. But yeah, they were normal.

    Oh, 'cept for this one guy who was dancing quite strangely, but yeah XD;; And one of them had some old guy using 3 discmans as the DJ DDDD:

    The evening themselves were alright, but in both cases I preferred the after party. Nothing even happened at them, but again, just sitting around and hanging out with your friends is enough for me.

    Plus I didn't get home till 8AM for my formal, so I think that proves I had a good time XD;;
     
    I never got to go to my Prom. I didn't go in 5th year because I thought that I'd be there for the 6th year Prom. However I left half way through because I hated the place so much. It doesn't really annoy me, since I pretty much hated everyone which I went to school with, they were all idiots.
     
    I suck at dancing, I'm stupidly shy, and I hate wearing dresses, so I really don't wanna go to my Prom next year, but my friends have such an awesome idea that I can't not go.
    The plan is to hire a double-decker red bus to drive around twenty-five of us to the Prom, then have the bus pick us up afterwards, and drive to the beach while we party in the back with some loud 'rave' music and alchopops. Then we'll just sunbathe the night away lol.

    Some guy arrived at the Prom last year in a helicopter. I mean, what!? O.O"
