Forum Glitch -- Post is REJECTED, but becomes a double post upon resubmission

I have encountered a forum glitch which is likely another strange quirk of slow database performance:

I made a post in the quick response box, clicked "submit" once and only once, then waited a long time (~5 minutes or so) for the page to refresh. The page that loaded told me that "you must wait at least 45 seconds between posts; please wait another 45 seconds." I refreshed the thread I was responding to in another tab to confirm that my post hadn't been submitted, and it hadn't, so I resubmitted. The result was a "double post that had been automatically merged," displaying my entire message twice in the resulting post.

Basically, sometimes when you submit a post, it rejects your post, but hangs on to it somewhere in the recesses of the database, never displaying it until you make another post, at which point it submits both post at the same time, causing the new double post merging logic to kick in, leading to a single post containing both the rejected post's contents, along with your resubmitted post's contents.

I would guess that the workaround for this glitch would be to just wait a long time and hope the forum will eventually digest your rejected post and submit it on its own.

It's a really annoying glitch, but probably not the fault of anyone here.

I didn't bother to read the description but I read the title. So the glitch is where your post is rejected, and this happens. But it turns out you pressed the button two times and it double posted, so it will say rejected but its a double post.
It will encounter to everyone once in a while if your unpatient. Right now its pretty laggy so everyone starts to get unpatient with the connection. But all I can say it is a laggy glitch.

its directly related to the processing of the javascript AJAX quick post features and the overall server loads..
If the server is busy and takes a while to write you post to the db, it seems you browser's javascript resends it with the same affect as if you clicked post 2 or more times.

We are trying to get the loads down, but we may not be able to with out getting new equipment.. and well that's big $$$ so we'll have to just deal with these minor glitches / problems.
