    This is it the start of the new card game

    Four Crystals

    This new card game is made by ChibiWolf Productions and they are holding a contest and this is how it works,

    it is placed in spoilers.

    From the email i recieved from them

    At the moment there is no prizes but i heard that it is the winner who gets there card.

    I have recieved news from Chibowolf and they have made the rules

    please note that the rules are long for this so here it is


    Game Rules

    In Our Brand New Card Game We will have one of the best systems you could think off

    This is how it is played.

    You have a deck off 30-60 cards each one with diffrent abilities,
    and you have to choose 3 life cards (these are your life when all 3 are destroyed you lose, These can only be attacked when no monsters are on the field.)
    When starting a game you have a hand off 6 cards and in your hand you need atleast 1 monster
    on both players first turn they cant attack
    Spell cards can be played on your turn and trap cards on your opponents turn, or to stop a spell and/or trap on your turn.
    Each monster has a rank which shows how good the monster is. i.e if the rank is five it will mean that it is a normal monster if it was a rank of 10 then it is a excellent monster which would be best for attacking or defending as a life card and a rank of 2 is good for defencing your life card
    When you are attacking it works as bellow

    Card 1(your card) Card 2 (opponent)

    card 1 has an attack of 150
    card 2 has an attack of 200

    when attacking your opponents card if

    Your cards ATTACK is Greater than your opponents DEFENCE then your opponents monster is destroyed
    Your cards ATTACK is Less than your opponents Defence then your opponents onster losses as much defence as your monsters attack
    Your cards Attack is the same as your opponents defence then your opponents monster is destroyed

    So in this case Card 1 would be destroyed
    and card 2 would beat card 1 by 10 points.

    but if card 1 attacked then card 2 loses 150 defence points



    the contest ends on the 30th September so send your cards quick.

    what kind of genre world is this taking place in? as in Fantasy, Sci-fi, Old-history, Anime(from the name chibiwolf), etc.
     
    Um... I've seen a fairly similar game made by ChaosWalker, (No sacrifices though). Anyways I might play this if I could find out a little more about it, like could you give a link to an official website or something?

    Oh, let me count the ways...

    Attack and defense points. And identical treatment in terms of what they do, save for the lack of life points in this one.

    Monster levels that determine the amount of tributes (call them sacrifices if you like; makes no difference in practice) required to summon them.

    Spells and traps. As far as has been revealed yet, their roles are identical to those of YGO spells and traps.

    In fact, the only things here that couldn't have come straight out of a Yu-gi-oh! rules manual are the deck size limit (which, if you try to argue it as a significant difference, is pretty roffleworthy) and the life cards thing.

    Oh, and did I mention that the life cards serve a role basically identical to that of the shield cards in Duel Masters? Thus far, nothing in this setup betrays even a hint of originality. :\

    Riiiight...and you're basing this statement on what, precisely? Their word? YGO has been around for quite some time now, and seeing as how it's one of the big TCGs, I find myself lolling at the thought that any actual company (and if this is an actual company then I heartily second UnderdudeX's request for a link to an official company website) in the same business could be completely ignorant of its existence. Being ignorant of Duel Masters is fairly feasible, and it's largely a moot point anyway since that TCG has officially been declared dead, but given this thing's amazing similarity to YGO...

    To me, this whole thing just looks like a cheap knock-off. -.-

    And I said that this is roffleworthy. If you're making a new TCG, the first thing you want to make sure of is that it's not a carbon clone of an existing one. Because, you see, there's this little thing called 'copyright infringement'...

    Again, what are you basing this assumption that they don't know YGO rules on? And again, is there any proof that there is an actual company behind this? ChibiWolfProductions sounds like something a random person on the intraweb would come up with.

    I never claimed it was identical. I claimed that it was mostly a copy of YGO, with a little bit of it copied from elsewhere as a half-arsed attempt at making it not look like a copy. -.-

    Why don't you list some non-copied things for me? Y'know, you being the one who gets e-mails from these people and all. If there even are multiple people. That e-mail you quoted doesn't seem the least bit official, and it's made using a hotmail account for crying out loud. >< A real company would certainly hire professional designers for the starting set of their TCG as well.

    So like, what makes you think this is not the haphazard work of a random TCG-obsessed person? All the signs here seem to point that way.
