3rd Gen FR question about shiny starters

    So I'm playing FireRed on VBA, and I'm trying to get a shiny starter. But to help lower the amount of time it will take to get one, I was wondering if you can see in the box when selecting the pokeball if the pokemon is shiny or if you have to go to summaries?
     
    You cannot tell if it is shiny until you send it into battle or check its summary.
