From First to Last: Dear Diary My Teen Angst Has a Bodycount

Long album title, no? :P Yes, I know, I'm very late. Seeing that this album was released in 2004... And it's now 2006. So I'm two years overdue. And I can't believe it took me this long to find such a great band. Well, I like bands such as Matchbook Romance and Relient K, but... I can never listen to their albums over and over again in a day, because most of the songs... They sound the same. But with FFTL, the sound of each song differentiates. Each and every song, you KNOW its a new song. Because it sounds completely different. Which is what is so awesome about it. Do you like Joy Division? The Cure? System of a Down? Coheed and Cambria? AFI? All those bands I named, they're all rock, yet different genres of it. Nonetheless, FFTL manages to sound like all of these bands and more, rolled into one. So no matter what you like (there's even one song that has rap in it. Yes, rap.) I'm pretty darned sure you'll like it. Oh, and some lyrics have a hint of gore, whilst some have a hint of sexuality. So... You get the gist. Pure, original, and absolutely diverse.

*giggles* FFTL are one of the main exponents of emocore, methinks. I like them a lot, but I think their album name is a little over the top. It's not OTT enough to be seen as parodying typical emo album titles, but too OTT to be one, if you know what I mean. Album titles aside, though, I love their music. "Note To Self" is one of my favourite songs, although it kind of annoyed me that they put it on both the Warped Tour 2004 and 2005 compilations. Surely they could have had a different track each year.

I saw them at Warped Tour!!
I heart them. They're uber plomy, yo'.

I don't own the CD, but I wanna buy it.
Actually, I think they may have taken the album title from a Johnny The Homicidal Maniac comic, cause in one of those Anne Guish writes in her diary "Dear Diary, My Teen Angst Has A Body Count."
I'm pretty sure of that, but I'd probably check it again.

That sounds pretty much right ^_^. My local JB finally has it in stock, so I may buy it once I've gotten around to buying all the OTHER CDs I have to get - there's so many CDs, I spend all my money on them and there's still more :(

That didn't exactly, uh, add anything to the convo? Please refrain...

Well it was about FFTL so I thought it'd be on topic ;). lol.

Anyways, the only way I heard of them was they are going on tour with a band I like and so I had to check them out. But really, the band has "scene" written all over it. Not my preference.

In Australia, the scene's very different so I guess I have a different view to you. There isn't as much of an emo fanbase - people tend to be embarrassed by it too - and the main emo bands that get exposure are the really mainstream ones like The Used and My Chem, so FFTL isn't really "out there".

Ah I cant stand these guys anymore, it seems way to much about the "scene" to them x_x Yeah. Sonny god is he ugly too.
