From Which Date?

I think 1998. Not quite sure. It was so long ago.
 
Whenever pokemon first came out. Sometime in 98 or 99. I watched the first ep and then got red version and a GB pocket for Christmas.
 
Pretty much 98-99. I was in 3rd grade and it was really popular. Started watching the anime and playing the games at the same time. I had Red, but got mostly addicted to Yellow <3
 
December 25th, 2000 at about 2 AM, I played Pokemon Gold for the first time. And almost nine years later, I am waiting for HG/SS to come out. All of the games seemed to get better over time. After playing the games, I watched the anime. (And I love the first 5 seasons, since they are actually pretty good. Season 1 and 2 are the best.) Best present ever.
 
I actually remember the commercials for Pokemon Red/Blue... the vacuum cleaner thing and vague "gotta catch 'em all" line didn't make the games look too appealing, so I wasn't very interested. The show, on the other hand, was advertised to hell and back.

My first episode was "Island of the Giant Pokemon" which I caught on its first airing in 1998.

My first game was Pokemon Blue, which I got the following year. I got Yellow soon after.
 
I got into it shortly after it started airing on TV in Canada so... probably 1998? I didn't get Pokemon Red until early-to-mid 1999 though, so I was a little behind in that regard. I used to sit behind this one kid in my grade 4 class and watch him play Red, though, so I knew most of what happened in the game.

...man, it's been so long. :( It's weird to think that I haven't gone a single day without thinking about Pokemon in roughly 11 years.
 
It was Christmas 1999 when my relatives go me into Pokémon-starting with Pokémon Yellow (back when it was all the rage).
Over time I got Blue, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. I also watched the anime until early Hoenn.
I essentially gave up on Pokémon by 2004 or 2005.
 
I'm a 1998 kid. Hardcore old school kid right here. Got Yellow with my GBP in 99, but lost it. Played TCG, watched the show, and played other N64 Poke goodies and didn't play another mainstream game til Sapphire in 03. I have all the old and new games now (exluding HG) and...I'm a nerd and moderate the sections with older games. xD
 
Honestly, I'm not completely sure when I started, it was a long time ago. I think I got my gameboy colour and Pokemon Blue version either right before Christmas 1998 or shortly after.
 
99-00, I was pretty young but I still remember all kind of stuff, 00 was just so crazy year here lol, I remember going to Tallinn that year, there were pokemon things everywhere when we got onto the ship
 
First Christmas after Pokemon Red/Blue came out. When was that? '96? '97?
 
2004, I started with Leafgreen, then played the earliest games released.Thing is, I still have my first Leafgreen, and what's more is, it was the first video game I've ever owned.
 
1998, but I didn't get really serious with the fandom until the next year. I consider 1999 to be my debut Pokemon year, since that's when I became obsessed with the anime and the games.

Almost a full 10 years later, here I am now, still into it.
 
I started playing Pokemon Yellow on December,28 1999. That was time when i first got GameBoy color. And i still play Pokemon,Well..Not that much just a little. I only ROM Hack. But i quite watching Pokemon Animes/Cartoons and Movies 3 years ago.
 
1998 for me too. But I lost interest for a LONG time after about Johto. I just got back into it this year. So I haven't been a fan for all these years, since I completely lost interest for over half the fandom. xD

All together I've probably only been a fan for like 4 or 5 years. I've always been a fan of the anime more than the games too (when I was little I used to think the games were based on the show, not the other way around. xD) But I did play a few of the games, since I'd always borrow from a friend who owned every one that came out.
 
'98. When I was 3. And only knew things from the show. But still managed to beat the game, and get a level 100 marowak... and then I deleted the file cuz I wanted a Bulbasaur. Really? A BULBASUAR? The thing is, I don't think I even chose bulbasaur when I realized that I'd never get to use my blastoise again. :(
