I just spent the past week, about three hours a day, in the Safari Zone trying for a good Croagunk to breed for my Poison monotype team...I also wanted a couple of Black Sludges for my team as well.
For one thing, even of I set up the decorations right, I have to wait twenty days for croagunk to show up...then once they're there, they hae something like a 5% chance of even appearing. They usually flee after the first turn if you don't catch them, and they only have a 5% chance of holding the Black Sludge.
Finally, after hours of running from every koffing, weezing, grimer, ekans, arbok, roselia, and carnivine I see and after countless croagunk ran away from me, the thirtieth croagunk I managed to catch was holding the sludge. I kept going and the next TWO I caught were holding Black Sludge. XD
...I've yet to find a female jolly one though. For breeding purposes, I don;t think it matters because one of its eggs will eventually be jolly, but when I'm also trying for a dry skin over anticipate and I'd rather just catch a jolly female in the wild, stick it with an everstone and hopefully cut my time in half. ._.
