Kanna symbolizes nothingness, and is the first of Naraku's "offspring." She wasn't born like a normal child as you would expect because first: She would have to have had a mother to give birth to her and second: Naraku can't give birth to a child in the NORMAL way because he's well... a guy. Unless there's something the series didn't tell us or he went through a sex change and suddenly... Okay I'm getting way off topic.
