Fullmetal Alchemist [Discussion]

Who do you think would translate the FMA manga? Is there a GanGan comics company in the US?

My guess would be either Viz or TokyoPop that gets a hold of it since they seem to be the two that grab the most popular series' and the more recognizable manga translators around.

I would want TokyoPop to translate it... *currently hating Viz for stopping Pokemon Special* but oh well...

The manga has a very nice story line, too. Though it changes some of the characters and the plot completely seperates from the anime, it's still one of the best manga I've ever read. ^^

I also like Barry the Chopper better in the manga than in the anime...XD

Call me nuts, but I liked Barry the Chopper better in the anime. He was freakin' psychotic. Oh yeah, if the schedule keeps up where it's at, the dub'll reach Barry the Chopper's debut on Christmas Day. I found that a hilarious way to spend Christmas..with a cross-dressing serial killer. >>

I doubt they'll show it on Christmas day - it'll probably be a bunch of Christmas-style episodes. o_O

Possibly..but here's to hoping they do show it on Christmas Day. XD

And a reminder for those who missed it or those who wanna see it again: The first episode airs again tonight (11/11) at 12:30am and then again at 3:30am.

I remember the time when we watched the episode which featured Barry the Chopper for the very first time. It was in the anime club and...

David: Hmm...I knew the lady was the serial killer!
Me: Obvious isn't it? But then... *sees Barry take of the wig*
Everyone: EEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!!
David: IT'S A DRAG QUEEN!

02 dub just showed~

Gluttony sounded British. o_O

Gluttony sounded horrible. x_X Didn't have the same kid-like tone in his voice and he said words other than "Lust, can I eat him?" Just about through out the whole series, that's about the ONLY thing he should be saying.

Anywho, I posted up my comparison up on my site. This episode was pretty much flawless. Al's voice improved ALOT in this episode and he sounds adorable as a kid. x_o

Yes, Al's voice was much better. Though I still say a little more force would be nice.

And I'm not sure on this - but in the Japanese version didn't they show Envy transform into Cornello before he went out to speak to the people? For some reason, I remember him being around when Gluttony eats up the real one.

Ah... must've been thinking wrong then. =X

Oh, and if you guys didn't know, scanlations for Chapter 41 have been released~

I think my computer hates you now for revealing that bit of info since now I have more reason to fill it with FMA manga downloads. XD

>D

Computers hate me.

I'm supposed to be cleaning off my HD, I've burned 10 CDs but mysteriously have less space than before I started. o_O

*should stop downloading* :P

...as for on-topic stuff...

I still haven't read the manga. Is there a place where I can download ZIPs of the scanlated chapters?

I still need to burn the rest of the series onto DVD so I can clear up space on my comp. x-x;

Toriyama's World has torrents for batches of the first four novels. While Fullmetal-alchemist.com has single volumes available to download. They're upto the eighth novel, I believe.

Oh! Thanks! ^_^

*starts downloading knowing that it'll take forever to finish* XD

Edit:FMA02 Released

I'm really enjoying FMA so far! It seems to have everything I like in an anime - comedy, action, suspense. w00t!
*can't wait to see episode 3*

Trust me. FMA's gonna grow really dark and serious starting in the 20s then it'll lose its comedy factor around the 40s and become a completely serious series. It's all really good though, so its best to enjoy it while it has its comic factor.
