Funimation's One Piece

I'm not saying the DB dubs suck it's just they changed to many names and gave it crappy music, I only like 1 theme in the English Dubs of DBZ.

FUNimation LOVES editing things, but that's just so they can match the flaps better. They have reasons that make sence, so I don't question them XD
 
I noticed that in the Opening it said SHONEN JUMP than Once Piece but in the Preview it's the Japanese logo.

Also, the new one is on Tonight.

EDIT: I saw the one last night it was awesome,oh It got a TV-PG rating instead of TV Y7 FV.

Things look good for One Piece now. I think I saw a sign paint edit but that is just funny. haha

One thing I do notice which may explain the reason for the change of rating to TV PG and I am sure other notice/heard this. It seems like the c-word let slip by Nami in this past episode and in the one before. This worries me a lot since I-GPX did the same thing with the h-word and it was later condeamed to the 3 am Saturday showing. I hope Funimation does something about this before Cartoon Network decides to take action.

On another note. I went to an anime convention this past weekend and some guys from Funimation where there doing a panel which includes the sneak peek of three future (this past saturday episode and the two that are coming up) of One Piece episodes. I didn't went to the panel because of work but from what I heard was that a lot of people liked the dub and were turn on to it. Seems like good sailing for the Strawhats in the near future (dub wise).

I did notice the TV rating change. I was thinking, hmm...is it getting more violent now? And I did notice Nami and Bellmay(I think...) said a cuss word. Oh no, I hope CN won't move One Piece to a different time slot...I think Funimation won't let that slip happen again. It was probably a mistake. So don't worry. ^^ I was thinking...ooops...mistake. So no biggie.

Yay, I am glad the people who went the panel liked the Funimation version a lot. This is great news. That means Funimation can continue it...and a lot more stuff will come in the future.
 
I think the new rating was because of the swearing. I mean the violence is no different from the Nautro anime except a bit bloodier. (Luffy and Zolo sure love to take blood baths during their fights you know). Still I think it because of swearing since well it is the only show on Toonami right now that has it. Still One Piece has a pretty late time slot already so what worse it could be is placing it on Adult Swim since there is no more three am time slot anymore. (Remember I GPX?). Still I hope Funimation would get rid of the cussing. Wish I have told the person that last weekend. Maybe we can email them. The guy seemed nice from what I could tell.
 
Yeah I think you are right. Because they did edit most of the blood in the last episode. So the only explanation is the strong language. I do remember IGPX. They had strong language in that anime. I was wondering why they moved it to a different time slot that time. So I do hope Funimation and CN won't have the strong language in One Piece. Even though it is in a late time slot it is still part of Toonami. Which it is watched by teenagers.
 
I actually like the cussing, but this week's episode didn't have any cussing.
 
Hmm...maybe it was a slip of what they did since there wasn't any cussing in last night episode.

I still need to watch it. XD
 
I think it is ok for me to post in this thread. It still with in 30 days I think.

Ok. So it been a good while since Funimation has taken the rights of the One PIece dub. It has been a good ten or so episodes (Don't know really) with the new VAs and we even got a very well anticipated fight now. So what are the thoughts? Can it reach the popularity of Bleach now and convince Cartoon Network to show more light on it and a little bit less on the (Not-so-great-as-it-is-hyped-up-to-be) Nautro?
 
Yeah, its still within the 30 day period!

I personally love it!! The voice actors are cool, and the stuff that they leave included (the commercial break cut scenes, the next time, and the still intact Opening and Endings) are great as well!! As long as Toonami doesn't go down the tube (which hopefully won't happen, but with it being at currently 2 hours of airtime...), I think it might come back around!! I'm just waiting till the Sky Island Arc to start!!! :D
 
I am starting to like the new One Piece epsiodes more. I am not too fond of the voices, but the new theme song is awesome!

Well I think it is great. I mean to me now it is like the 4Kids (I never had any problems with 4Kids) so it is ok.

I have to say the best part was when Belleyme got his face planted by Luffy. That was just the greatest moment. Still I am waiting for the flame and torches about the blood be edit out. Still without the blood, the battle was still great.

Still I am kind of disappointed about the changing Enel title from God to King. I mean I was kind of looking forward to that because the God thing explained how come Enel was very egotistic. Still it is great so far. Right now I can't wait until we get to the battles.
 
I don't really think they've done a great job either. The voices are still pretty bad and Sanji still has a lolli pop, there are still rubbish puns and beyond all other falls, is Zoro's voice.

Besides, 4Kids had the Best Usopp voice ever known to man.
