2nd Gen G/S/C Monotype Challenge

Finally continued a bit today. Did the SS.Aqua stuff and arrived at Vermilion. Went to Celadon, just to notice the Game Corner Larvitar I have heard of quite a lot recently is a crystal exclusive, all I can get there on Gold is Mr.Mime, Eevee and Porygon. Do I need 2 Umbreons? Probably not. And for some reason the real time clock has the wrong time, it's day. So I can't even get Houndoor...

Finally a real update:
- Caught a Hondour, named Garmr
- Evolved Garmr and got it up to around level 40 by defeating the Elite 4 again and again (only Koga caused occassional problems, but not too serious ones) while it was holding the Exp. Share
- Beat Erika and Sabrina using only Garmr. 6 Badges to go.

Leftovers make this thing even more bulky. The bad thing is that I still have no QA alternative, but I'm considering Toxic which I should get soon.

Garmr / Houndoom m Lv.44 @ Charcoal

I didn't even look at its movepool yet, I just gave it the best moves (with Smog being the exception) it learned up to now.
 
Update:
- Beat all the rest of Kanto, without any major problems
- Caught a Larvitar named Sandstorm and started training it by the same method I trained Houndoom with
- When I finally had Tyranitar, challenged Red:

First up was Pikachu. Its Thunder missed and my new Tyranitar's Earthquake OHKOd.
Next was Venusaur. Houndoom's Flamethrower did a lot, Venusaur charged a Solarbeam and died.
Blastoise was more of a problem. Even Umbreon took quite much from Surf and would have lost this duel, if the Sp.D drop from Psychic wouldn't have came in the right moment.
Snorlax was by far the hardest. Tyranitar needed the help of 4 or 5 Full Restores to bring it down. I hate Rest and Iron Tail's Acc., but without Defense drop it could have stalled me eternally, so there was no other option.
Espeon was easy, it just got killed by T-Tar, all it did was Mud Slap.
Charizard the last. Rock Slide missed twice (Mud Slap wasn't that useless after all), so I had to use another Full Restore. The next 2 Rock Slides hit and 2HKOd (well, at least I think so, I used +Speed...) even though because Charizard's last Flamethrower burned Tar.

That was pretty much Murkrow's problem, it started good, but did never get better, so it got bad.

Psychic was a really good addition to the moveset since it helped to defeat Fighters in case Murkrow was dead (which happened fast) and the Sp.D drop could be really helpful, which it was especially against that damn Blastoise.
Overall my MVP, as you can probably already guess from the level.

Raising this was probably a waste of time, but this thing is just too cool for not getting it. And it helped a lot, even Umbreon would have taken a lot more from Snorlax's attacks and hit back for even less damage.
