2nd Gen G/S/C Rival=Giovanni's Kid?

I'm not too sure about this but this was a mighty discussion on SPPF.

A plot hole in the Rival Theory:
He hates TR.

Although this could stem off the fact his father failed because of their stupidity and what not. I'm not sure.
 
Once again, I shall tell you that In the Pokemon Special manga, The GSC Rival, or Silver/Kamon, is his indeed his son.

And plus Lance comes from a family devoted to the Dragon Clan, with Clair being his cousin. Would you think Giovanni has any relation? Otherwise he would use Dragon pokemon wouldn't he?

Uhhh... Are the games and Manga even related and the same (I'm talking about how the games and anime are completely different. Are the two the same in that context unlike the show)
 
Yes, from what I know, the Manga is based on the games. To prove this:

The Wikipedia - Pokemon Manga Section - Manga released in English said:

* Pok?mon Adventures, a shōnen manga based on the video games.

* Ash & Pikachu (a.k.a. Satoshi to Pikachu, not released by Viz)

Yes. But really, with this much proof, the 'Rival being Giovanni's son' theory is actually fact. Since it's fact in the Pokemon Special Manga(which is based on the games anyway)
