I've been working a lot on a new team. So I figured I'd ask you friends and foes alike to help a fellow PC'er out.

The main goal of the team, is to respectfully Counter/Check most of the common threats in the Platinum Metagame and open up a sweep for Gallade.

So lets get down to it.

    At a Glance:

    Lead:
    *image removed*
    Jirachi @ Leftovers
    252 HP / 176 Defense / 80 Sp. Def
    Impish [+Def, -Sp. Att]
    -Thunder Wave
    -Stealth Rock
    -Iron Head
    -Wish

This lead has a lot of purposes. Rocks is the ever obvious. SR early is necessary to take out sashers, abuse those pesky Fliers, and over all make the sweep for Gallade easier. Twave support is SO important as Gallade is slow and won't always out speed his opponents whom he is trying to beat. Wish Passing allows me to keep the team alive for a great deal of time, meaning if necessary I can come back in later on catch a Wish and be back in business. Considering the fraility of Gallade Wish passing is probably going to be necessary if he gets to low on the HP.

    Gyarados@Leftovers
    156 HP / 108 Atk / 100 Def / 144 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Taunt
    - Dragon Dance
    - Waterfall
    - Bounce

I saw this in a reply that D_A gave. I've been in love with SubDDLiechi Gyara for quite some time. NEVER thought of making it bulky :P. So this set is just something I saw in a reply D_A made. He's really my biggest lure for Rotom/ScarfGar/Jolteon (with shadow ball). I really only want to lure in an electric attack and destroy them. Gar I don't fear to much though as after a SD Gallade is going to KO with sneak. Jolteon is a big problem though. A good bit carry Shadow ball, are extremely fast, AND to top it off absorb my status support, which is no fun. So here was the thought process that went through my mind. Lure them in as early as humanly possible, and KO.

    Snorlax @ Choice Band
    Trait: Thick Fat
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SDef
    Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
    - Body Slam
    - Earthquake
    - Fire Punch
    - Pursuit

Ok, standard CBLax tampared with to make it the perfect poke to deal with what Gyarado lures in. Considering MOST of the Rotoms these days are Scarfed, Pursuit works just fine in my opinion. This also does wonders to stuff like Forrey, Skarmory, and Bronzong. EQ will just make Jolteon look like a pure joke. I dropped Selfdestruct, yes I know :/, I might regret it, who knows. The only real things I see Selfdest being good for would be taking out Celebi/Cune, who really lol, don't do much to me. Most Cunes today don't Roar, so setting up on it with Gallade who has AMAZING special defense is actually quite easy, and makes it really easy to pick off with CC. (Ice Punch/Sneak for celebi) who also does nothing to me.

    Rotom-H @ Choice Scarf
    Trait: Levitate
    EVs: 6 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Timid
    - Overheat
    - Thunderbolt
    - Hidden Power [Grass]
    - Trick

Rotom-H is so great. I went with Overheat to take care of the ever obvious Scizor who can be problematic if they get a bullet punch in which will REALLY hurt Gallade. Tbolt takes care of Gyara. HP Grass suprises a lot of Swamperts who I can't really beat with Gallade, considering it also can't be para'ed and will really hurt with one of its EQ's.

    Yanmega @ Leftovers
    Trait: Speed Boost
    EVs: 4 Def / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
    Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    - Air Slash
    - Bug Buzz
    - Hidden Power [Ice]
    - Hypnosis

Watch as Yanmega tries to further cover the very last of my Gallades weaknesses. Yanmega makes VERY quick work of Celebi / Hera / Fighters etc.. who try to stop my Gallade. I don't really think that Running HP ground is completely necessary. I mean considering I have Snorlax and Gyara I'm relatively safe. Even though this gives me 2 Electric / Fire weaknesses, Yanmega really shouldn't need to see much action. Assuming the other guys have done their jobs, this guy should have little to no problem taking out a threat. I went with lefties simply because I lack a spinner and rocks hurts me a hell of a lot. Hypnosis is just that helpful Status which can be VERY useful later on for setting up with Gallades SD's.

    Gallade @ Life Orb
    Trait: Steadfast
    EVs: 252 Att / 212 HP / 44 Sp. Def
    Adament Nature (+Att, -Sp.Att)
    - Close Combat
    - Stone Edge
    - Swords Dance
    - Shadow Sneak / Night Slash

Hopefully my team has had enough time and ability to take care of the things that threaten Gallade. I was really going for Sneak up until just now. Thinking on it, Night Slash might be the better option considering the Paralysis support this team has. HOWEVER, Sneak 100% hurts the pains known as Gengar/Shadow Ball Zam/Shard Weaviles who do suprisingly large amounts if coupled with an SD of their own or even a CB.
EV Spread gives me pretty nice bulk and allows me to live a bit. I'm sure it could use work, so I'm totally leaving that up for debate.

So there is the team, it needs work, I feel it giving off weakness as I type this now lol. It's just a pretty fun team idea I had after rebeating the game using Gallade for most of the game :P.

All ideas are welcome, unless you dont' know what you are talking about lol. Keep it clean and flame free peeps.

    Peace.

Gallade REALLY needs an agility passed to it to sweep and probably reflect support to stop the priority that will be inevitably flung your way. But oh well.

Lead with Yanmega, not leading with it it just "lol sr", that and its better lead than Jirachi.

    Yanmega (M) @ Focus Sash
    Ability: Speed Boost
    EVs: 104 Def/152 Spd/252 SAtk
    Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
    ☆ Air Slash
    ☆ Hypnosis
    ☆ Bug Buzz
    ☆ Hidden Power [Fire]

104 Defense EVs ensure that Meteor Mash followed by Bullet Punch from LeadGross will never KO, which is a huge asset to this Yanmega. Other notable achievements accomplished by the Def EVs include being able to stomach three of LO Scizor's Bullet Punches and two of CB Azumarill's Aqua Jets.

The reason why its such a great lead is that it can 2hko the majority of leads even if they are faster thanks to the speed boost. If they decide to set up SR you win if you attack and keep your sash, you are basically guaranteed a speed boost. If they attack YOU, you win again thanks to speed boost and due to the sash. If you attack on Taunt, you win again thanks to speed boost. Hypnosis destroys slow leads to stop them from even setting up SR in most cases.

Since most people use Scizor to check this, hp fire is great at luring in scizor aswell as other steels like zong and skarm etc which will help Gallade sweep if you do lure in said pokes.

HP Grass is trash on Rotom like swampert can do anything to the rest of your team lol, use HP Fight so you are less Heatran/Tar/Lucario bait.

You have a CB Tar weak. It can come in on lax quite easily and just Crunch your whole team to death. It can also Pursuit lax AND Rotom which opens you up like alot.

DD Tar is also nasty to you. I mean if it gets in a DD you basically auto lose, it doesnt even matter that you can trick your scarf onto it because your team is still screwed vs Crunch lol.

So yeah you need a Tar check here somewhere.

Scarf does this better, with Trick over Wish.

    Seriously, just use Standard Gyara.

    No lead, no work.

Rotm has great defences, and just going 252 / 252 is wasting it.

124 HP / 170 SpAtk / 216 Spe Modest outspeeds Adamant Gyarados after one DD, the HP reaches a lefties point after you have tricked away your scarf, and the SpAtk is filler.

If you wanted you could go 116 HP / 176 SpAtk / 216 Spe, which will give you a jump point in SpAttack

Using a bulky gallade spread with close combat is a waste. If you want the bulk, go with a different fighting move and possibly bulk up over SD (although you may want all the power you can get without CC, so SD is still fine) or if you want CC, just make a more offensive spread. Basically, decide which one you want more: bulk or close combat.

This is true, i'll probably tamper with the spread some. The main purpose was to have the ability to take an attack or 2 while it sets up.

Looking at what you are saying is very true though, and considering Reflect support I could very well make him much more offensive. I'm tampering with a few things and I'll update post as soon as I've tested a bit.
