Excited to participate but don't know where to begin? Look here! We have opened an idea thread for you to share ideas, assets and whatnot to get the ball rolling on game ideas for the jam. If you're nervous about starting, this here can help you latch onto to something!

You are not allowed to post your project's game thread here and ideas shared on this forum will be added to Games Showcase's Free-For-All ideas after the event.

For those who are fans of undertale, the monsters encountered have a lot of similarities...

Photoshop Flowey as Mega Sunflora, etc?

Wallace/Mettaton EX

Marowaks Bonemerang insipiring the boss battle of Payprus, etc.

The whole game is about the power of the soul which could be interesting to be in a pokemon fangame context!

There are lots of themes in Undertale that involve circularity and the golden flower motif is an interesting has an interesting and prominent circular design.

I was planning on doing a Mother/Earthbound game, that functions like Pokémon.
But AtomicReactor did that years ago on Relic Castle it seems. :/

I mean we're all making creative leaps here; if you have a different way of doing it than what they did there shouldn't be any reason not to it do it! :)

More earthbound-inspired games the merrier!

The only different thing I can think of doing is different monsters than what they got.

If anyone wants some basic ideas for a circular theme

A story about racing
A region you traverse in a circle
A tale about the full moon
A tale about Pokeballs (perhaps the original)
A game focused on rotation battles
A tale about the passing of the torch to the next generation
A groundhogs day style story
A tale about the cycle of nature
A tale about Pokémon breeding/raising

Soooooo....I recently watched Birdbox. What about a game of pokemon that's based on birdbox? Except the monsters are deformed pokemon and the birds are like fletchlings or other typical early game birds?

Birds and birdwatching / collecting games are wonderful idea ideas for pokemon since it rests on a similar mechanic of monster collecting! There are tons of burbo pokemon to collect trade and battle!
