    Hey everyone.

I've spent the last few weeks working rigorously on a game that I've yet to reveal to the PokeCommunity. I've come up with alot of great ideas to be implemented into the game, and development is a good 5-10% completed in total. I've put alot of hard work and thinking into how the whole world interacts with your character, but there is something missing from my game. A name that will do it justice.

The game will be set in the Kanto region, with the key element of the story being a hero's story between the events of FRLG and HGSS. I've come up with some name ideas and I would like some feedback and suggestions on the name of the game.

    Pokemon Power Adventure
    Pokemon GreenGrass
    Pokemon FlamingRed
    Pokemon Power: The Kanto Chronicle

I don't feel that any of my ideas are up to the standard that I'd like :/. And I'd also like to leave room open for a sequel somewhere down the line.

    Any ideas?

That is a good idea. :) Another idea I have (it came to me while I was lying in bed staring at the ceiling) is Pokemon Generations: Kanto. It leaves room for possible sequels in a "Pokemon Generations" series. I'll google it later to ensure that nobody else has already used that name :P. If they have, Pokemon: The Kanto Chronicles it is.

Okay, but I've heard the name "Pokemon: the ______ Chronicles" used so many times before, though, including probably another "Kanto Chronicles." That and it's just not particularly distinctive. Pick something that'll separate your game from others; maybe even leave off the "Pokemon:" Prefix. If you must, try just calling it "Kanto Chronicles" with the subtitle "a Pokemon fangame." But I really recommend you push for something more memorable and distinctive.

Do not go the Pokemon AdjectiveNoun route. It never works.

How about, Pokemon Generations: The Kanto Chronicles. Pokemon Generations has never been used, and it sounds pretty memorable in my head. The Kanto Chronicles is just the subtitle to separate it from a possible sequel or sequels.

I like Pokemon Generations: The Kanto Chronicles, except that it's a kind of long title. That's not really a bad thing, that's just my opinion, ha ha. When I saw Pokemon Grass Green, I thought another variation of green could be Pokemon Evergreen. That sounded kind of good to me, but it's your choice! =)

Don't feel compelled to give your name that of an element or colour. The 'Generations' title seemed pretty original to me, whereas variations on the FR/LG title are a little clichéd (e.g. Aqua Blue, Volcano Red etc.), as Zephyr+ said.

good luck wit ur hack all the best

Not a hack o_O, if it was would've been in the emulation section...

If I knew how to make a hack, I would have finished it by now, because I wouldn't have needed to map or make the trainers or set the encounters. But, it's good making the game, as it offers more creative freedom. You create the interaction, and you control the interaction, rather than just altering a game made by someone else.

Thanks for the advice guys. Pokemon Generations it is. :)

Stop being so cocky. No, you wouldn't have finished by now. You'd obviously have to edit the trainers, and yes, you'd have to make maps. I don't see why you think you wouldn't have to map for a hack.

Because the Kanto maps would already be built-in if I was hacking FireRed or LeafGreen. I'm not adding very many maps, I'm just using the Kanto ones. The trainers wouldn't have to be edited that much either as I'm keeping the majority of them the same with the exception of some new ones added and minor changes to gym leaders to enable multiple rematches.

I'm sorry if I sounded cocky, but if I were using a hack, I would have been finished by now as I've already put almost 30 hours into the development of the game. And if I were making a hack then it would have made the process alot easier and faster.

*facepalm* If you released a game with the same boring maps of fire red and leaf green people would've just chose to play fire red and leaf green xD. Just because you were not adding many maps you would still have to change them to make them look better and a reason as to why people want to play the game.

True. But I'm trying to make emphasis on the variety of Pokemon available, the Story, and the Additional Features rather than new maps and improved/flashy graphics. One thing, I've upgraded is I've changed the majority of music to either Shane's remixes or HGSS music. Easier on the ears means they can play the game with the sound on.

Another benefit would be that there's no emulator required to play a game developed in RMXP :P.

I don't expect my game to be the best this forum has ever seen, I'm not trying to compete with Super Eevee Edition or Raptor, I'm just trying to make a small, fun experience that'll make people say, "This game reminds me of all the goodness of FireRed and LeafGreen, but with additional Pokemon, changes in the story, additional features and a variety of unlockable content, I'm glad I played this game."
