Like the title says, I go into the grass and the game resets right when i'm about to encounter a pokemon

    What rom are you using?
What did you change in the rom?
Did you change the grass tile's behavior byte?

I'm using Firered. I patched Jpan's engine to it, a physical/special split and a decap as well. The only thing I have personal changed so far is the tiles.

Nothing else and I replaced the grass tile with another grass tile in the same area in the tileset.

Did you applied MrDollSteak's rombase first and then JPAN's patch?

I found someone else's decap in the rom hacking resources section awhile ago. Telinc1's decap. I patched Jpan, then the decap, then the physical/ special.

I would use MrDoll's but it has some errors that need to be fixed that I want to use.

I'm gonna try it if I have Pokemon or patch the decap first then the JPan Engine.

Edit; Thanks to Syndrome I applied the decap first then the engine. It works now thank you

Since it's when you are about to encounter a Pokemon... can you walk on the grass normally?
If so, it may also mean corrupt Pokemon data.

Maybe but I patched the decap first and that solved it so I'll see how it goes.
