3rd Gen Gba firered weird glitch

I was playing my old gba firered yesterday and I left the gamecenter in celadon city and ran east to the little plot of grass outside the city and encountered a complete gold what looked to be either a jiggly puff or clafairy I caught it then my game crashed and corrupted my save file any help to this mystery would be great approved of

Not sure what to say on your questions, besides asking if you are playing on a GBA/DS or an emulator, and if the former if the game is legit or just a fake/badly done rom copy. That or as the game is old, it may have errored out from sheer age.
