[PokeCommunity.com] [Gen I-VI] The Trio Nature Challenge

❀ The Trio Nature Challenge ❀

Hello PC! It's been quite a bit since I've done any challenges here.
This one is quite different compared to the last one I submitted a few
years ago (Unevolved [Monotype] Challenge), however. This
challenge itself contains three sub-challenges under one
single theme: Nature! The idea is to use Pokemon from different
habitats and time periods while facing item restrictions.
All challenges adhere to the same rules as well, which are as follows:

    1) It is required to use Pokémon from all listed categories. You are
limited to two Pokémon per category.
    2) If a challenge has more than three categories, you must use at
    least one Pokémon per category.
    3) Challengers are limited to one Dragon-type, one Fairy-type Pokémon
and one Starter line per team.
    4) HM Slaves are permitted, except where indicated.
    5) You must have acquired a valid challenge-based Pokémon by the
Third Badge. You must then box invalid Pokémon.
    6) If required, you may trade in upwards of four Pokémon. They must
be Basic (or Baby, if applicable (i.e. Mantyke)), Level 1 (or 5) and legitimate.
    7) If required, you may hack in legit Gen I/II Pokémon into games
upwards of Gen III. Until May 20th, 2014, you are expected to trade in any
required Pokémon in Gen IV-V titles. Post-May 20th, 2014, this rule applies
to all generations upwards of (and including) Gen V.
    8) The challenges are completed once you have defeated the Elite Four,
defeated Red (Gen II) or defeated AZ (Gen VI).
    9) Any and all Held Items may only be used on one Pokémon simultaneously.
    10) You may only use naturally-occurring healing and held items during your
challenge. Anything not appearing on the following lists may not be used as
held items or healing items (in or out of battle), including all Mega Stones and
stat-boosting items i.e. Dire Hit (considered "manmade"):

Yep, that looks fine. I'll go and see if maybe there are some viable Gen I Pokémon for Cretaceous "Insects/Arachnids" that I may have missed.

That said, you should have a total of six Pokémon, unless you're choosing to have less(?). Then that's fine, too lol

Currently running four. I just included my replacements for each group if/when my current team dies.

In fact, time for an update!

So I actually swapped games from Pokemon Y to White 2. I haven't played since the month it came out, so I'm not 100% sure what Pokemon are available, but as of now my team is looking like Tepig, Mareep and Riolu. I'd like a Ducklett and a Vulpix, I think, as well as Pikachu; however, I'm just playing it by ear as of right now.

Since it's 2am, I didn't get much playtime in, but my Tepig (Pépé) is Level 10 and Riolu (Réré) is Level 7. I'm hunting around in the grass for a Mareep (to be named Mémé, or Mimi if female), but that'll have to wait until tomorrow I guess lol

White 2 is pretty fresh since I've only played through it once back in end 2012, and I didn't even beat the Elite 4 at the time - I got to the seventh badge and stopped playing. Graphics aside, this is definitely fun.

That said, I'm a bit disappointed since I've gone to save now and it's telling me I need to delete the file with Up+Select+B first before I can save this one. It seems a bit silly, given that it let me start the game anew before giving any warning of that! I guess it's good I didn't get very far as of now, but finding another Riolu isn't going to be very nice :(

This sounds like fun, I'll have to find a game to play it on first though! :P

Looks good. The rules definitely don't say "six Pokémon only" (it's recommended, though). Upwards of eight is OK as long as two of each come from each category, and assuming you train and use all of them.

And so it ends, my Blue Trio Type Nuzlocke.

I've added you to the Victor List, with a small note about the "Ridiculous" challenge. Since Ridiculous also encompasses rules for Hard (which, in turn, includes Intermediate rules i.e. No Item Use), I've added a note that X Accuracy was used. Good work overall! Didn't expect it to go so quickly, that's for sure. I've also gone ahead and clarified that bit in the rules, just in case there was haziness about the man-made part.

That said, I actually did a "real" restart on White 2 (Up+Select+B, jeez) and I have boxed Tepig, an extra Riolu, Psyduck (horrible nature... I might reconsider) and a Lillipup (that I didn't really want - just used to capture different Pokemon as Tepig was OHKO'ing eveyrthing).

    My current team is:

    Mareep ♀ Timid
    - Level 11
    Riolu ♂ Naive
    - Level 10

We just finished up at the farm and are on our way to visit the Pavonnay Gym. Not sure what the name is in English (game is in French only), but that's the first town :P Currently hoping to get that done and over with tonight (I took a midday nappy). I'm still re-familiarizing myself with what Pokemon are available in White 2 early on (I know Black was pretty much limited to new Pokemon until post-Elite 4), so my team should grow in time.

I've decided to make a quick edit with my sign- up, instead of Pokemon Leafgreen/Fire Red I'll be doing Pokémon Y, due to lack of patience for my computer, and I know what Pokemon are in the game, that said, there will be a difference to the team, and I will get them as I go.

[PokeCommunity.com] [Gen I-VI] The Trio Nature Challenge

Began the challenge with ease, and quickly caught my first pokémon, Flecthling. I currently have no nicknames as my mind is as blank as paper. Anyway, going through santalune forest, I caught a pikachu, also with no nickname. Got to santalune city and challenged the gym after training my two pokemon. Beat Viola easily with help from thunder shock and peck.

I had to pick pretty weirdly because I don't have exact knowledge of what you can find in Platinum compared to Diamond and Pearl, so I just had to wing it and pick things I knew I could find in Gen 4.
