    Maybe it's just me, but I have always loved the music in G/S/C. Even though the sound quality wasn't amazing, the songs just made me feel good inside when I heard them. Even today I'll pull them up on YouTube and just let them play while I'm working.

    So what do you guys think? Did anyone else like the music from Gen 2, or am I the only one? If so, what was your favorite tune?
     
    I personally loved the Gen 2 soundtrack, and I also really like how they even brought it back via the GB Sounds in HG/SS. I'm also someone who really likes 8-bit chiptune, so the Gen 1 + 2 soundtrack both sounded pleasing to me. It's a big part of what made me go from playing Crystal to Gold and back to Crystal. The music was always so upbeat, while at the same time really blood-pumping, especially when it comes to battling.

    As for favourites, it's gotta be this. It gets you in the mood for battle within 5 seconds or less.

    I love the gen II soundtrack, my favorite behind gen IV. Such a nostalgic and happy ost... The Lake of Rage theme is one of my favorite Pokemon themes of all time.
     
    Many people might not like them as they're too used to modern video game songs, but same can't be said about those who've played these games from the get-go; personally, I love all GSC music. Every time I listen, I always get a feeling of nostalgia, and, well... they're simply calming. :] Thank god that they could still be found on YouTube and whatnot. Of all themes from Pokémon Gold, Silver, and Crystal, my most favorite would be Goldenrod; it's very cheerful.
     
    Gen 2 music will always be my favorite. Even now it still is. I love the music on route 27, it almost makes me cry because of how nostalgic I feel when I listen to it. I also like lucky channel, and the victory road music was amazing.

    Ditto. I hated not being able to listen to it at will back in the day so much I was ready to restart my whole game ony to get the chance to hear it again... ah, the dark ages before Youtube ^^.

    My favorite non-battle tune is the Azalea/Blackthorn theme. For some reason I can't get the same pleasure when I listen to it with GB Sounds in Gen IV, probably because it's not the same soundfont... I know it's close enough, but it's not the same ^^. Speaking of GB Sounds, love the Cerulean City remix, too bad they couldn't put it in the original game.

    I guess the only GSC song I didn't really like was the Kanto wild Pokémon theme because of the botched intro. It sounded so much better in the original, what happened here?!

    Oh, and while I'm at it: Kanto wild Pokémon theme aside, the Gen 2 soundtrack is my favorite in the series (Gen 5 being a very close second) .
     
    I loved the music from those games. One of my favorite tracks of those games were most of the routes, the trainer battle music in Johto and Goldenrod City.
