4th Gen Gengar Question

So I'm trying to make a line up to tear up Battles in Wifi.
I'm currently in the elite four and I need suggestions on my gengar.
Info on my gengar:

Gengar - Lvl 58

Naive Nature

Move set:
Poison Jab
Shadow Ball
Hypnosis
Brick Break

Is this a good moveset for my gengar?
Any suggestions?

Also, I wanted to EV train my gengar. I wanted to know should I EV train its Defense or its Special Defense?

The moves I would suggest are :

- Focus Blast/Focus Punch/Brick Break/Drain Punch: To deal with Dark types.
- Hypnosis
- Dream Eater: Follow up for Hypnosis.
- Shadow Ball

My suggestion is:

Shadow Ball/Thunderbolt/Hidden Power (if it's Fire or Ice, check in the game corner exchange place on Platinum)/Focus Blast/Trick (if you have a choice scarf) or explosion (if you wanna run life orb).

Also, EV it in Special Attack and Speed, and give it 4 Defence EVs.

But really, this is the wrong section, your should go to strategies and movesets


Go for explosion/trick if you hidden power isn't fire or ice
